I bought a Fet+1 driver upgrade for my C8 from banggood ( BLF X6 X5/ Taschenlampen-Treiber Astrolux S2 S3 SS SC Sale - Banggood Deutschland-arrival notice-arrival notice )
When i swapped the drivers my flashlight didnt work so i put back the old driver and it worked again, when i looked at the FET driver mine seems to be missing a small resistor near the + that little black one.
so i think i just got a bad one working on getting a new one from banggood

What type of C8 do you have? The Convoy C8 needs a 16mm board, the classic Ultrafire C8 supports 20mm. I guess you can just take a look inside and measure.
About the driver: that little resistor may or may not be needed, it is there to allow for building a lighted tailcap (small leds under the switch button), so strictly it is not needed. But it could be that the software of the chip is finetuned with that resistor in place and gets messed up without it.
I could have a look at that driver if you would send it over here.
i have the C8 from banggood with integrated head that one in the picture
that star pcb is 20mm right? i cant find the XP-L HI V3 A1 with star PCB
does the driver need any prep work because i think i had it right it was screwed down tight with that ring and my solder job was spot on it just didnt work and when i swapped my original driver back in it was fine.
yes maybe i can send the driver over.

I’m not sure, I wasn’t in the flashlight hobby when the old ones were around. I’ve just built so many of the new ones that the numbers are stuck in my head, lol.
