Astrolux s41s triple

I have a s41s with nichia 219b. I am not impress with the beam and decided to mod it to a triple with these parts.

Nichia 219C 4000k cri92 from KD reflowed on noctigan mcpcb.
Led4power Ld-3 9Amps driver.
Reuse the stock mcpcb as a spacer.

Going to replace the body and tail cap with the aluminium parts. Knurling is too aggressive on ss and it is abit too heavy.

Cool build but why the original MCPCB is needed as a spacer if you are using the Noctigon?

I have filed down the knurling on a S41S with good results, but still too heavy.
but my favorite is the polished aluminum S41.

There will be a gap.I guess a thicker lens to replace the stock lens will do the trick. I just use what I have on hand. I have stacked a 1.47mm thick lens in between the noctigan mcpcb and the shelf to test out. Sanded the stock mcpcb to about the same thickness.

vwpieces that polished s41 look really nice.

Thanks
I have built several S41 using a T-Pad quad and Carclo and no additional spacer was needed, Why I asked as that should be essentially the same.
And just a heads up… Lenses in the S41 size are hard to find. Think it was only flashlight lenses dot com or something was the only close fit and expensive, otherwise its astrolux.

Do they make different optics for the S41/S42?
What about putting brighter led’s in it?

Thanks!

- Can you give more details on how you did the swap from quads to triples on the S41 please?

- What size MCPCB did you use?

  • Which optic did you choose?

Thanks!
