New respect for high power lights

Tonight we had a mains power fail, nothing major, just for about 25 mins. We had a few guests at the time and it was dark outside. As the “torch guy” I was able to provide some illumination for our guests- a few AA, AAA lights and one 26650. The one that just amazed folks was the Convoy L6 that lit the living room on ceiling bounce alone- not even on full power.

Once power was reinstated we took the L6 outside and even I was amazed at just how much light this thing kicks out. Its not just a floodlight, this thing throws daylight a long way!

One guest wants to buy one tonight!

I’ve had the L6 for a while, but its not got much use, as I use AA nichia modded lights for work, and dont have much need for it but Im glad I had the L6 tonight

Nice! The L6 has a regular use, it is the perfect 26650 holder! :innocent:

You are correct, but I found what it was really made for tonight  26650 holder-brilliant

Yep. I love my L6. If you need more light than the L6 delivers, wait till the Sun comes up™ :-)

Man I certainly would write a letter of complaint:

Dear power company,

Yesterday, we had a 25 minute power outage. This is simply outrageous! Next time there is a power outage, please make sure it is AT LEAST 3 hours.

Sincerely,

a BLF member

I feel the same way about my Thorfire S70.

I’m so dull…I totally don’t get this? :frowning:

I really like my L6 also and it does make a lot of light , but when I truly want “daylight” in the palm of my hand I reach for the Olight X7 Marauder. (tested out at 9402 lumens)

Wow, around here peopl ask already, did you recognice that power shortage? It was about 1/2 second I’d guess?
The computers were still running.

Didn’t have a real blackout since I travelled to Thailand some years ago.

Maybe the power grid’s a bit more stable in Germany and Switzerland than at other places so if it happens it would hit us harder as we’re not used to it.
