[Convoy S2] Murphy's Law strikes again

Simon has shown several torture tests of the S2+, including a several-story drop followed by boiling water and freezing tests. It survives with barely a few scratches.

After two days of having a Convoy S2, I drop it on a diagonal from less than 1m high and the lens gets fissured  At least it doesn’t seem to have jeopardized the waterproofing, but it still bothers me.

I’ll post a photo as soon as I can, but for now, if someone would be so kind: how hard is it to open up an S2 to replace the lens?

ADDENDUM: Here it is. Look on the lower left corner.

It’s not a missing bit or even a full crack, but a fissure that seems to have stayed below the outer surface. I know I couldn’t feel it with my fingernail at all.

Easier than getting the cotton out of a new bottle of aspirin .

Take off the head , unscrew the pill , and the reflector and lens will fall right out .

You can buy now an AR lens

Not a difficult job at all.

New AR lenses specifically for the S2/S3 etc are available from the Convoy store on AliExpress and they’re the ones I suggest you go for.

You have to buy two at a time, but it may be worth having a spare on hand, just in case Murphy comes visiting again.

Thanks a lot, jack, didn’t even know the head unscrewed. The seam is VERY well hidden.

I’ll do just that, Lexel. Probably gonna take the time for that and also buy a pair of AR lenses for my C8.

Have a look at this.

At about 2:30 he takes a blue Convoy S2+ apart. By about 8 minutes he’s put it all back together again.

It has to be better than discovering how to do it on your own.

Sunshine! I love that guy!

jack’s post already set me on the right path, and I’ve disassembled my C8 a few times just for curiosity’s sake. I’ll just need some needlenose pliers.
Still, I’ll keep your rec in mind incase a minute detail bamboozles me  So thanks to you, too!
