Why has Gearbest stopped shipping knives to USA?

I tried to buy a Ganzo yesterday. Apparently no shipping options for US. Got a message that Gearbest is no longer shipping packages longer than 100cm.
Does anyone know whats happening?

I get the same error message for lithium batteries for a variety of destination countries, even though they were fine last week.

On Gearbest, to Italy, no longer can ship batteries with the track number; Only post untracked; [but on DX and Banggood it was possible (at least up to 4 days ago)]. I posted the question, they replied that are the new rules

Which knife were you ordering! Over 3 feet long! That’s a sword!

100cm was defined in the GB message. Makes no sense. Knife was 4.7”.

I obviously didn’t want to order a sword

That is the message for some destination countries on lithium batteries, knives or other items. Mostly lithium cells

A few months ago I ordered an “in stock” Y-Start Jin02 from Gearbest. 2 1/2 weeks went by with no movement. I emailed GB and asked them why an in stock knife hadn’t shipped yet. The response was “there are no shippers who can ship a knife to the US”. Which was strange since I had just ordered and receive a knife from Gearbest. I ordered it from Fasttech and received it a couple weeks later.

I was using a coupon code GB was advertising here on BLF, plus it was allowing me to use GB points, which lowered the price to around 8 dollars. I think the real reason GB wouldn’t ship it was they were losing money on it. I try and avoid buying anything from GB anymore.

I tried GB just now for several different knives. No discounts, points, flash sales etc. Full asking price. Still no shipping to USA and error message makes no sense. Pertains to batteries it seems.

Sounds like someone screwed up on the shipping restrictions settings or something. Wonder if GB has any concept of how many sales the lost the last few days? I'm certain a bunch o people (me included) tried to order the JIN01 yesterday or the day before.

You can order the Jin01 from Fasttech. Same price and probably e-packet shipping, which means you will probably get it within a week to 10 days.

I tried to order a Knife from Gearbest (against my better judgement). This makes four straight times I have placed an order or tried to but it somehow got screw up by Gearworst. It’s official, I’m done with Gearbest. Totally fed up with their crap.

Hi guys, sorry to bring you any trouble, now GearBest could ship the knives to usa @ freeshipping

as we have a new shipping method, so it takes time to test it and then open it to the us customers

When I want to order a knife (like the SRM 910+) to Switzerland it’s $8.71 shipping, to Germany it’s free.

Hmm, either I’ll get one shipped to my parents or I just skip this one.

Maybe we’re all spolit brats but once you get used to free shipping it’s getting difficult to pay 50% extra to get it here…

I don’t think GB is trying to screw anyone, probably just some failed deals with shippers.

Also with the Jin02 I almost got my order canceled. They told me they couldn’t ship (in fact there was no shipping option for knives to my place from that day) and wanted to full refund. I replied I could wait. And then about a month or 1.5 later there was a different shipping method available for knives (no longer free though), I reminded them and the knife was shipped in a week (I didn’t have to pay any extra, but why so slow?).

In the end I waited for 2.5+ months but I got the knife and paid the original flash sale price + discount + freeshipping.

This thread is a duplicate of Friday’s post…just sayin…

They just weren’t making good on the deals they were asking us to take advantage of.

It seems they were trying to find the cheapest shipping possible to save a few cents. They tried doing this with their Los Angeles warehouse selling batteries too. They claimed they couldn’t ship them from LA to another US address, when millions of batteries are legally shipped through the US postal service daily. It all came down to GB trying to squeeze the last few pennies they could out of a deal.

No idea what happened to the hundreds of Samsung 30Q’s that were in stock LA. Maybe they sold them off to local California vape shops to avoid shipping altogether
