My ideal flashlight

Hi all,

I decided to join the BLF forum after visiting on a daily basis for about a year now.

I realized that after counting over 50 flashlights at my house, a couple in my car, 3 more on order and having built my own lumen meter based on posts I have read here at BLF, perhaps I should join the community.

Also did a few simple mods.

My ideal flashlight:
At least IPX8 water proof
Flood light, all spill no hot-spot and spot light, hot-spot with spill - focusing TIR?
0 to 1000 lumens, infinitely adjustable
White light - Tint 5000k or warmer
Red light to preserve my night vision
Blue light to play amature detective
Green light to hunt at night
UV light to set the mood
On board input charging port using a metal protection ring with o-rings at both ends
On board output charging port using a metal protection ring with o-rings at both ends
Battery support for 3 x AAA, 2 x CR123, 2 x RCR123, 1 x 18650 or 1 x 26650
Pricing $150 or less

Sort of a mating of the new Nitecore SRT7GT with a Fenix FD41 and a ZeroHour Relic XR.

Hmmm, I guess I could buy 1 of each, help I think I have an addiction!

Why does your ideal flashlight require a battery?
What kind of ideal is that?
Mine requires no battery and goes from -infinity lumens to +infinity lumens, infinitely adjustable.
Also costs $0.

Welcome to BLF!
heheh I bet you can do a lot with the 50 you have

Welcome to the club Napoli Bona!

Wow, infinity lumens may just be a little too much for me.

I just turned 70 in March of this year.

Based on the "suggested required lumens" calculation of Age2 x Pi it should be safe for you to stop short of infinity lumens at a mere 15,368 lumens, which if I recall the rule correctly may be divided up between as many as 200 different lights depending on your height and weight.

Welcome to BLF!!

Have a nice time here, Napoli Bona!

Welcome to BLF Napoli Bona! I’m not sure why flashlights are addictive, but there is plenty of help here.

Plenty of help on how to more efficiently find your fix, you mean

Welcome to BLF, Napoli!

I may need help. I just ordered the ZeroHour Relic XR from Amazon :person_facepalming:

Welcome!

Well if you have the dosh… I know that one is a little too far for my wallet.

I was gonna recommend you nab a few Convoys and a Lumintop Tool, but you may need to give the ol’ pocket time to heal :stuck_out_tongue:

Order something new when you understand and know the latest one you got
So sad to receive 2 or more lights close to each other since there is always one you like best
Better smear it out

Why?

Welcome to BLF
