Here is another one: http://a.co/gLgrv7E

Seems like it has a more advanced display. Does anyone have any experience with this one? It’s possibly sold on other sites under a different name…

How much money is earned with those @#$% redirected links each time someone “punchs in”? Where are the fair-minded reviews/quotes behind these products, Pete7874? Not pretending to be rude, of course.

No idea. But I found HKJ reviewed this one. Seemed to be on par with other similar testers.

Nothing pesky, teacher. Since those links Pete7874 was sharing were of distorted redirectional class (LoL! ), something I had seen before (affiliated/tracked links), I just asked just to know a bit more about that stuff.

I've been procrastinating my financial situation for just too much already.

P.S.: I can virtually do all of the stuff possible with a desktop computer from my Android phone. Unfortunately, untapping the full potential of these handheld full blown computers requires quite a bit of customization (rooting, etc).

I was a bit lost & confused for a while there……. Big Smile

I do not have the skill or inclination to learn to do those things on laptop or phone at this point………. Facepalm .. Wink
But it nice to know it can be done if I ever decide to try. Grad

OK ‘grasshopper’ (Venom)… sorry for the short reply this morning… I was in a rush. Smile

They will basically tell you the output voltage & current to the device you are charging.

Below are pictures of three different ones, there are tons of different models so don’t drive yourself crazy looking for one. Wink
.

.
.
THIS will tell you a bit more about the Xtar (shown below) in word & pictures of it in use.
.

.
Here is a link to a review HKJ did on the Xtar shown above….
http://lygte-info.dk/review/Review%20Xtar%20USB%20current-voltage%20dete...
I have a couple of them and they work very well. In the link I posted above this morning earlier they have them for $5. It is in the USA also.

Then here is a link to HKJ’s site also …. Review/test of USB equipment for charging.
http://www.lygte-info.dk/info/indexUSB%20UK.html
He tests many different models and brands and this link is his Master List with links to each he has tested.

Hope this helps…….. Smile

@ teacher These seems to be handy for diagnosis if you having problems with cell charging or other devices other devices that uses usb charger. Is there a way to check voltage/amp at the end of the usb charger cable to see how much it lost its voltage/amp?

Which usb tester gets teacher seal of approval?

If you don’t want to wait for shipping from China you can pick up the Xtar HERE or HERE …. in the USA.

I have several and this Xtar works just fine.
HKJ reviewed it here…. http://lygte-info.dk/review/Review%20Xtar%20USB%20current-voltage%20dete...

Yeah, you could do that; but you would have to have some adapters to use the USB Tester that way.

Out of the USB tester that you have and used are they accurate and staying accurate over time? Which one is your favorite (your opinion) and why? I like to get people opinion, pro and cons, its help me decide.

I have a USB charger for my phone and it say 5v 1.2 or 12 amp can’t see and I took a picture on a iphone and blew it up the picture still can’t tell. I called the phone manufacturer, they said 5v 2.1a , they must of print it backward on the USB charger.

@Venom….. Not a dimes worth of difference in the ones I have of the same class/type. I probably use the Xtar the most because it has a large display that is easy to read & covers the range I need it to. Wink

I have not found them on the WalMart web site ever. I just go to the store and get them…. they have them at three I have been to.
If they don’t have them at your WM……………
Order that one from GearBest that Barkuti mentioned….. http://www.gearbest.com/chargers-cables/pp_488881.html

It would be an excellent one if HKJ gave his stamp of approval. Thumbs Up

Cell phone one will work if it has the rating you need, or like he said will just slow things down if it doesn’t.

I just came back from Walmart in my city in my city and nothing. I’m going to try the Walmart in the the next town over and see what they have over the weekend.

I think when I called the guy didn’t bother looking. When I went there today the guy told me they never carried that brand, they just had a off brand and the other guy probably thought that was it. I think I also saw a Anker one to.

Venom, with each trip, your expenses may raise a good deal. You could have bought some inexpensive good looking unit on the first attempt, and could have won the craps shoot for just a little more. Wink

Honestly, I even take my time looking for a quick online review about that bottle of wine at the supermarket. LoL!

Maybe it can do it with some other device…

@teacher I went to the other Walmart, they didn’t have them but there was a spot for them on the display. So I ask someone that work there and she said that they should be in on this or the next shipment.

While I was at Best Buy I pick up the Eneloop Power Pack. I ended up picking it up for about $24 for that kit.

@ teacher Almost forgot the date on the date on the battery, is that the expiration date or is it manufacture date because it says 4/16?

If you have to set the charging amp on the charger for eneloop, What amp do you set it at?

The dates on the Eneloops are manufactured dates. If it came from the battery it will be in this format [ 16 04 ??? ] = (year… month….. some letters)

What charger are you talking about? If it is the one that came with the Pack, as far as I know it gives no choice. They shouldn’t need charging, they come charged…. but it won’t hurt them if you do.

I usually charge my AA’s at least at 1A (1000ma) every now and again I might do 1.5A (1500ma)
AAA’s I usually do at 0.5A (500ma)

You will get 94 different opinions on this depending on who you ask. Those charge rates are well below the 1C threshold that Eneloope gives as MAX.

So far I have not “killed one” (knock on wood…. Wink .. ) and I have them dating back to 2006. So I must be doing something right. Wink

@teacher It was in the same format like you mention 16 04 I don’t have the battery with me right now but I’ll double check when I grab them.

I was watching a YouTube video on the Xtar SV2 and the person put the battery in and it started charging at at 1 amp and he said that was to high and put it down to .25 amp AAA and .50 for AA. I was also watching a Lii500 video and got a little confused watching.

Happy late Easter!

@Venom … Roger that Venom, the year comes first, then the month, & then some letters that are some kind or manufacturer code. Thumbs Up

Like I told you, you can get as many answers as you ask people about how they charge their Eneloops… or any other battery for that matter. What the guy on the video should have said to be accurate….. that 1000ma was to high for HIM….. not the batteries. Wink

Thank you my friend, a belated Happy Easter to you also. Smile

@teacher Is a year after the manufacture date for a Eneloop someting/nothing?

If you have a 4 bay charger do you set it at 2 amp so you can get .50 in each bay? What does 1000ma mean? In post 116 you said 1C threshold what does that mean? Smile

Typically, a 4 bay charger will let you set charging current individually for each slot. So if you set it to 2A, it’ll be 2A for that slot.

1000 mA = 1A.

1C is charging current relative to battery capacity. For example, if you have a battery with 2400 mAh capacity, then charging it at 1C means charging it at 2.4A. And charging it at 0.5C would mean 1.2A.
