Lap top battery "filler" cells

Hi folks,
This query is really for those budget conscious folks who indulge in laptop battery ripping to fuel their cell obsession. Some laptop packs are built with space for more cells than they’re filled with as a budget option in the marketplace. Packs with space for 12 cells were sometimes sold with only six or maybe nine. In many of those packs the manufacturers glued 18mm by 65mm hollow plastic tubes to fill the space. As you can see in the pic below, I use those tubes to build driver holders for triple micro mag builds. I’ve now built so many that I’m running out of plastic tubes. If any of you happen to have recently ripped some packs that have these I would be happy to pay a reasonable price plus shipping to obtain them. I know the plastic driver holders could probably be 3d printed but I’m budget conscious too.

Thanks for reading!

wow, cool…. never saw one… neato…

would prolly make good “spacers” to replace empty 18650 slots, too…

Bump with an idea.

You probably have already looked into this, but just in case. You many want to check out the electrical and plumbing isles at your nearest hardware store. You may find a very similar material in 3/4" plastic tubing and conduit such as PEX, PVC, CPVC, ABS, etc. PVC comes in different "Schedules", which has different wall thicknesses.

Best wishes on obtaining more of those.

Yeah, I was going to suggest this, but he said he could 3D print those spacers and didn’t want to because “budget”. So, I figured buying a pipe would be out as well.

Said I could maybe 3D print them, don’t know for sure. I have looked at plumbing pipe but the walls are just too thick. Thanks for the suggestion though!

These are filler cells that I got from a drill pack. These walls are even thicker, are you able to use these?
I put my hands on 4 right away and I may have more.
I would never throw away anything so useful looking

I found some of those a while ago and know for certain they won’t work. Thanks though!
