Daiso USB 200 Charger no 8&9 T362







Official specifications:

Measurements
  • Power consumption when idle is 0.05 watt

  • USB output is coded as Apple 1A

The charger is rated at 1A and can deliver 1.1A, this matches very well.



Both the black & the white looks the same.



Also at 230VAC



Maintaining the rated output power for 1 hour works fine.
The temperature photos below are taken between 30 minutes and 60 minutes into the one hour test.



M1: 53,8°C, M2: 45,1°C, HS1: 63,0°C



HS1: 43,8°C



M1: 62,8°C, M2: 62,1°C, HS1: 65,2°C

Noise at 0.5A load is: 35mV rms and 1134mVpp, this is rather high peak noise.



Noise at 1A load is: 41mV rms and 1035mVpp.






Tear down



My vice could break the glue and the I could pull it apart.



The plastic shield inside the box is used to improve isolation.



There is a fusible resistor at the mains input and a inductor between the two mains capacitors.



The output from the transformer is extended a bit away from it.



The inductor (L1) can be seen between the two capacitors.



On the bottom is a bridge rectifier (DP1) and the mains switcher (U1).
On the low volt side is the rectifier diode (D3) and the usb coding resistors (R10, R11, R12).





The safety distance look good.
Testing with 2830 volt and 4242 volt between mains and low volt side, did not show any safety problems.



Conclusion

The charger can supply the rated current and is safe. The coding is a bit old fashionen and the output current is on the low side. There is a lot of noise in the output.
