Eagletac M25C2 vs Eagletac M25C2 Turbo?

Can anyone tell me the differences in the two lights? I placed an order for the EagleTac M25C2 model today.

I was just curious if the one I ordered, can be modded for higher output in the future.

They’re both fairly easy to mod…the driver is glued in and can be removed by removing the led mcpcb and pushing a nail through the hole that one of the wires is running through. It’s best to file the point off of the nail first. The driver is soldered to a contact board, just remove the old driver and put a 17mm fet driver in its place.

The Turbo will throw a lot further than the non turbo version…the Turbo that I modded measured 636,763cd and threw 1,595 meters. It had a fet and dedomed XM-L2 U4 1A.

I read where you modded one. I was WOWED at the results. I figured I would ask what the light I ordered would gain from modding it.

I'm not into modding, yet. If I keep hanging around here though...

In anticipation of the arrival, I want to order some more 18650 batteries.

I want the best bang for the buck.

What is the best suggested?

Sony VTC6s or Samsung 30Qs…the VTC6s have a slightly lower internal resistance. This is is great battery comparison tool.

I read a lot, DJ, about how well the Samsung 30Q's are with everyone here. With input from member Tjohn, he helped me narrow things down for better understanding and to make a decision. I find myself getting lost trying to pull in info. I'm overwhelmed by the level of knowledge shared here. All great stuff.

All my cells I have, have come with lights. I don't have many, but those I do have, have been getting swapped around. Now that I seem to be getting into multiple cell torches, I figure having all the same brand, quality, and output is the best approach, instead of mixing.

First look, it's a nice light. Deep, BIG reflector.

So far the biggest LED light in my collection.
