Olight S10 Baton UV

A fairly simple straightforward mod here.

I had this old S10 that I destroyed the driver while trying to mod in the parts box and an old solarforce 380 - 450nm Luxeon UV emitter that I use for setting UV adhesives needing a host so…

I decided to strip it and press fit a copper disc into the pill with a negative wire soldered on, this goes to one side of the reverse clicky while the other goes to the - LED. The LED positive is soldered directly to the centre of a contact board which seals up the pill and filled with resin.
A lot of purple light but quite a strong emitter, great for charging GITD stuff and setting adhesives

.

The light is direct drive from an old li-co cell giving about 1.2A reading at the tailcap and has a reverse clicky switch with metal button and GITD surround.
I kept the ano on the threads for wear and lockout purposes

.

UV lights…so hot right now :face_with_monocle:
Nice one M8, I really have to give caustic soda a try with one of my Olights !

Thanks, yeah just household oven cleaner does the trick, just watch for it going too far, best to take it out & rinse to check and re-apply than have it start pitting the metal.
I also use cottonbuds to keep it moving around the bowl.

Brilliant!

Nice.

If you don’t mind me asking, how does that switch go together?

Thanks.

I knew I should have taken more pics

It is a 12mm(L) x 8mm(W) x 8mm(H) clicky with a 4mm x 4mm magnet epoxied to the plunger surrounded by clear silicone mixed with GITD powder.

Once the pill is built with the switch etc inside it slides into the light body, once fixed in place via tightening the bezel I cleaned, scored and epoxied the magnet to the top of the switch plunger, once set I smother the plunger and movement areas with thick silicone grease then make up the silicone mix and apply into the hole, tidying up before it sets too much.

:+1: thanks!

Yes I knew that. :stuck_out_tongue:
