I’m interested in this form factor for a mod, and I like the looks of this light. Anyone have one they would part with? I’m interested in buying or for trade I have an eagle eye X6 triple dedomed XPL V6 1A. The tint is nice dedomed and it does ~3500 lumens and 52Kcd.
I know Fasttech and HKEquipment still sell this model. It’s 2P configuration, so with a FET drive, does this mean you have more output due to less voltage sag (compared to 1P, single cell); is this the idea of the mod by any chance?
Thanks. Yes, that’s the general idea. My plan is to put 4 XPL in it wired 2s2p and wire the cells in series. The series configuration results in even higher performance than if everything was in parallel because of less voltage sag in other circuit resistances. When the cells are in parallel you halve the cell IR, but not the wire and FET and switch, etc, resistances. The reduced current through all of these resistances with the series configuration results in less voltage sag and more performance. About 20-25% more current to each emitter, in this case.

It’s not working anymore, but I believe it’s not impossible to get a discount by politely asking Stanley (HKEquipment). You might give this a try if you can’t find a donor here; this light is not particularly popular as I couldn’t find a lot of discussion about it in the past. I do feel this light is a hidden classic in the flashlight world.
