Convoy C8 with USB charger - anyone done a mod like this

Thinking about buying a C8 and adding a built in usb charging circuit. Has anyone done this before?
Will it blow the driver because it will be placed in parallel?

if you use a TP4056, and connect it in the circuit before the driver, (the battery side of the circuit) it will be fine. I have built & modded several lanterns using a TP4056, and Nanjq driver together with no problems. Only issue you will have is the tail-cap switch. I’m not sure where inside a C8 where a TP4056 will fit, but it has to have a by-passed connection (pass the switch) in order for it to work to charge the cell.

Can you plug in the recharger with the tailswitch clicked “on” to complete the circuit (using moonlite mode to keep the power consumption to a minimum while its plugged in) ?

what about using a powerbank charger to charge a convoy c8+

has anyone thought of that, im trying to work out how i could do it

unsolder the big usb plug off maybe

anyhelp would be great as i want to do this also

Sofirn said they were adding USB charging to the C8F soon if that helps.

parts interchangeble? with convoys c8+ ?

I would guess not since C8F is a side switch.
