Light painting -- real, or virtual reality

A challenge for those doing light painting for real, in reality. The VR people are doing it in, you know, unreality.

The above link almost crashed my laptop by launching an endless number of tabs in Firefox… Strange.

That’s odd — doesn’t do it to my Firefox, just a single page opens.
But I run NoScript and uBlock all the time, could be “The Verge” is a problem for loading crap.

Let’s see — yeek! uBlock says “21 requests blocked on this page” so yeah, approach TheVerge with caution and your crap filters engaged.

Here’s the example link they give showing a drone drawing in VR — making colored lines: https://twitter.com/jaymis/status/870535738621698049

Thanks for sharing this hank. :+1:

(mine blocked 15 in total)

Some useful (albeit strongly opinionated and sometimes cranky) discussion of useful tools for blocking trackers and spammers at:

(The title is an overly-strong negative claim about NoScript that’s explained down in the comments — there’s an ad on the NoScript page for some payware tool that irked the writer).

I found some tools worth trying, browsing through the comments. “Decentraleyes” looks interesting.

I guess using virtual reality is going to subject us all to a new wave of 3-d tapdancing* farting advertisements, so we’ll need better blockers.

  • Tralfamadorians communicate by tapdancing and farting — Kurt Vonnegut
So do online advertisers — Me

Hmm, interesting.

Amazing, though, is the chick going on and on for 2500 words, wasting all that article-space, whining “Why did my boyfriend ‘like’ Emily Ratwhatever’s butt on instagram??”.

Like… really?

No way i’ll go back on TheVerge… I can’t stand this kind of spam tactics.
I checked the Tweeter link. Real cool!
Thanks for pointing this out.
