WakaWaka Solar Flashlight?

This solar flashlight looks like the best one on amazon, https://www.amazon.com/WakaWaka-Power-Solar-Powered-Flashlight-Charger/dp/B00OM1JJ32 (not an affiliate link, just a normal link)

Was wondering if anyone has experience with this flashlight? I am putting together a list of best backup solar flashlights and would like some initial feedback.

I have the yellow version (easier to find than black). We use it as a barn light. It sits on a window sill just inside the door. It’s always ready to use. Probably now about 6 years old.

Very cool, does it throw a decent amount of light?

I believe on the highest setting it produces something like 25 lumens. Not a powerhouse, but it pretty much does what I want; a light that is always ready for use in a barn with no electrical power. We also used it when we used to camp, sleeping in the back of the pickup. I had it strapped in place where it got sun during the day and it was easy to reach at night.

Very cool, thank you for the insight.

Good info from both of you gentlemen… thanks for sharing it. :+1:

I had one of these, was not terribly impressed. It did not do a great job of charging my son’s phone. I only had it for a few weeks and it got lost. Me personally, I would not purchase another. The panel is just too small to be very practical, and the battery did not seem that great either. I really wanted to like it, but in the end I was not super bummed it got lost. much better off with a dedicated battery charged via USB or dedicated solar panel that is at least 4x the size.

Thats understandable, it’s almost like a backup’s backup for those extremely rare just in case moments…

I think the original, a plain simple solar charged led light is more practical than the later version that has the usb outlet.

I agree
