The next price bracket is $15 , and if mem serves there are 3 batteries priced around $15 …
And then the prices just go higher and higher with genuine Canon batteries at top
Yeah it was a bit of tongue in cheek. The $15.00 ones could be twice as bad.
It’s all very interesting …
I have seen no real discharge tests for camera batteries …
And most battery reviews are based on speculation and opinion …
So I am just trying to throw some information out there based on real discharge testing …
Next I guess I have to chose a $15 battery to test …
What I really need is a New Canon Battery to discharge , not sure discharging old batteries is fair …
But I will have to create a database for the results I think …
B will be interesting to see how much price influences capacity , if at all ?
In the previous test I did , the Canon battery was not that much better … ( So ? $60+ = )
I discharged my original Canon Battery from the 70D ( Dont know how old or how many cycles the battery has done )
0.3A discharge to 6v resulted in some 1497mAh discharged .
Compared to the better cheap battery ( 1381mAh ) , the cheaper battery is some 8% down on the Canon battery …

Whats the price difference between the two? I mean the real one and the second cheapest? Real battery must be 40+ dollars
For the $15 battery I can recommend Wasabi Power
I have used Wasabi Power replacements for Sony Nikon and GoPro cameras with excellent results, all performing slightly better than oem battery based on video recording length.
3 year warranty on all of their batteries. I have a few that are 5 years old and running strong, never had an issue with the ten or so I’ve purchased.
Y = I can’t buy those !
2nd Discharge on the Canon Battery = 1504mAh Discharged at 0.3A to 6v .
Again , I have no idea of the vintage or use this battery have been subject to ( until I got it ) …
