Went to visit my friend today—I’ve been wanting to take a few pics of his shop—I was only able to take 3—- Machinist at the other machines were camera shy—I trade off work with him at time—The small quantity I need the price gets too high—Some of you guys will appreciate these pictures (Texas Lumens , MrsDNF etc) I’m in aww every time I visit

Is the first pic a CNC? I see the lathe to the left. Looks computerised is it an auto lathe?
It would be fun to spend a weekend in here.
I’m not sure what every machine is/does—He does a lot of oil indudstry parts—Like he says he has an old manual lathe in the back—All the machines in front are automated— 22 of them in an air condition shop—he started out 25 years ago in his garage with a few manual machines
Nice pictures chops. l love poking my nose around just to see what creations these machines turn out. Unfortunately the shop I used to visit was bought out and then closed down. :weary:
Both machines in the first pic are CNC lathes. The machines in the other pics are both vertical machining centers.

Glad he didn’t ask if he could program. 
one of the perks in my work is i often “test” these machines after i repair them.
half the shop often comes over to see what crazy object i am making.
and the long string of i want one too.
i often leave one of the guys i know there the file so they can produce some for me and everyone there during idle time.
