SOFIRN SF36 Review

I purchased this torch from amazon and it arrived 2 days later (with a discount code from Sofirn in exchange for an honest review).

The Sofirn SF36 arrived well packaged, it comes with 18650 protected battery, usb charger and usb lead, nice wrist strap, spare O rings, and some instructions (which are a bit small).
The flashlight has the Cree XPL-2 V6 led fitted, the body of the torch seems very well made and is very solid, the reflector is very smooth and the led is very well centred, there is a stainless steel bezel (tactical type) which is good for breaking glass in an emergency.

The head is quite heavy and features a gold plated spring which is connected to a nice brass heat sink. The threads on the tube of the torch are square cut and come lubricated. The supplied protected cell fits in very snug and a non protected LG HG2 fits too. There are four brightness modes and a hidden strobe, it has last on memory which I prefer.

The supplied cell on max pulls 1.7 amps and and LG HG2 pulls 2.9 amps. The tint of the light is very warm about 4500 to 5000K, I have compared this to then Sofirn SP31 on a photo on a amazon review with the SF36 being on the left, as you can see it is a much warmer light than the 5500K SF31.

Outside the beam is good for 200 meters with a nice throw from the hot spot with plenty of spill, the claimed 1100 lumens is about right. The torch never gets too hot on max but there is a step-down after 20 mins but I think this is to save battery power as it never gets too hot to hold but you can push it up to max again with a click of the tail cap button.

Quality wise this is very good being better than Thorfire, Convoy, Ultrafire and seems to be as good as Astrolux or Manker.

So if you are after a well made flashlight that you can get from Amazon without the long wait from China this is for you. The good heatsink and the safe 2.9A max output this is very good for extended run times on max power. I hope you like this honest review, I own loads of torches and I really do like this one.

You have bad wires in your multimeter. Max current is about 3.7 Amps on HG2.
