I've had a pretty good experience with Banggood, though I haven't ordered anything from them in a while.

Back in May, I PM'd swi to see if BG would like to sponsor a 2017 NBA Finals giveaway, but swi never got back to me.

I got 3 “rude” posts. One of which was definitely rude but the others?

Quote:
received a fake hugsby from ebay seller junnyshop8988 not only was it fake but it came with a broken lens, heavely scratched body and dented body. I contacted the seller asking for a refund. Good thing I only paid $2. It was obvious a fake with shiny tail cap, no hugsby printed on the body and I don’t believe it was anodized but powder coated or something. Since it’s a fake I assume this is not a real CREE XPE-R3 LED. Don’t know if it’s possibe to see in these pictures but could someone confirm it’s a fake?

just looked at the x-ray again and omg Facepalm wood screws, really? Come on, this is not something I would expect from a top of the line company like nitecore claims to be. Nuts and bolts of the right length and size is what I wanne see, not just some random screws they find in the janitors storage room.

awaiting more rude points

I've got 9 rude posts, but they're all pretty innocent.

Lately I've been going out of my way to not be rude, and that's a good thing.  :-)

I see nothing rude in the 2 posts above. Wood screws in a flashlight?

I agree. I said negative things about Imalent’s lousy quality control. I got a rude mark for that.

The Miller,

I've heard of portable setups, and for the reason you mentioned. Seasonal use of recreational areas makes this popular. I'm in a fixed location, and actually I'm waiting for FIOS, or something similar, to make an appearance. Verizon will at some point want to move away from older, less reliable, technology. The equipment will all be new, state of the art, so it should be good for a long time. Supposedly it's just around the corner. The only problem I foresee is the old "usage increases to exceed available bandwidth".

I was/am pretty upset after buying the NC NU30 and after seeing the x-ray from stephenk I freaked out a bit. The pointy screws you see in the x-ray are woodscrews I believe.

Tell me about it… 2 of them definitely got me scratching my head, definitely in the “you gotta be kidding me…” category.

3rd was post #57 in this thread. Someone must’ve just “discovered” it reading this thread.

I’ve never had problems with Banggood but then again I’ve never had any problems buying things from Chinese vendors. The only issues were occasional long shipping times but nothing that I was surprised at. And it’s not as if I buy things infrequently; over the past several years I’ve probably made several orders per month from one offshore vendor or another.

Wondering if there’s a way to “appeal” rude-votes, if only to declutter your “rude-count”. If a vendor does indeed vote your post as rude, and the only way to get it out of your “rude-count” is to delete the post, then that’s a form of censorship. You dare not criticise a product or vendor for fear of being “ruded” all the time. Crappy product/vendor then wins.

exactly!
And I kinda understand that rude marking is anonymous but still, someone can just do it for the fun of it (or trying to work on your nerves just like a troll) and get away with it.
Maybe company vendors should not be able to mark posts as Rude, they are a company so it’s not like you single out a person…

That’s what I mean. I wasn’t irked, annoyed, nothing like that. Just said that I was no longer going to take part in the discussion. Let everyone cool off…

I wasn’t a “BG rat”, in fact, I explicitly said I never ordered anything before (or since). Think my words were that “I don’t have a dog in this fight either way” or something to that effect.

But someone just came along yesterday or whenever (ie, just saw the bargraph today, and someone mentioned the “24hr rule”) and dinged me for that. Whaaa??

Exactly. Big Smile

If you had, it would’ve been way back when, not yesterday. Big SmileBig SmileBig Smile

I’m not mentioning any names, but for years I was an active participant in a network where the operative “theme” was, “If it ain’t offensive, DON’T BOTHER!”. Big Smile

The point of it was, it’s only 1s and 0s, and if you can’t take it, you gotta learn. If someone can get a rise out of you by just something they say, they have power over you. You’re a puppet on a string, and they can pull those strings anytime they want.

Me, I never want anyone to have that kind of power over me. So go’head, insult me, mock me, question my parentage, whatever, it ain’t gonna bother me in the slightest. Big Smile

But I always get amused at these politicians who hear some other politician quoted who “insults” them, and they act so mortally wounded, demanding retractions and apologies, etc. Life can’t go on ‘til they’re made whole again.

Oh, brudduh…

Anyhoo… Not saying BLF shouldbe a free-for-all, and things like a “rudeness” button can come in handy, but c’mon, some posts which get flagged as rude, well, aren’t. And there should be some mechanism to recognise this, and “undo” it.

Yeah, most of the time like in your case it’s not rude at all, just oversensitive people clicking the button, like all the people who got heated when I said it’s 2017 and everyone should know how to operate a camera xD
Just ignore it Smile

Good point Pulsar……. Wink

Yeah Lightbringer…… I think those were some of your comments too. But still… nothing Rude. I think a 24 hour rule might be good too. Big Smile

I thought about making another comment or two about the type person that would mark a post Rude that was obviously not. Vendeta is a word that comes to mind…….

But since my green line covers the whole screen, pretty much from the same nonsense you have brought to our attention; I’ll just let you use your imagination as to what my opinion of those type individuals might be. Wink

Hm? You think what were some of my comments?

I just read here that the “24hr rule” lights up the rudeness bar for only 24hrs after a post is flagged. So that’s how I knew someone just dinged me today, vs weeks ago or however long ago.

teacher wrote:

I have no idea who might’ve gotten pist off at me enough to have a “vendetta” against me. Generally, I like everybody… until someone gives me a real big reason not to. And petty disagreements don’t count.

teacher wrote:

Yeah, but, y’see, even a comment like this is “fanning the flames”. It can be read as:

“Some people are real jackasses, but I’m not gonna say who.”

Then, the person(s) you’re implicitly pointing to will no doubt come back with his/their own veiled or not-so-veiled “dig”, and it starts allllllllll over again. Silly

A while back, there was a technical discussion (ie, not even opinions) about topic X. Someone wanted to do something (X). I pointed out that it’s hard to do, at the very least impractical. “Nope, nope, it can be done!” Like a dog with a bone, he wouldn’t let it go. So, I just dropped it. Ain’t gonna convince anyone whose mind is already made up, so why bother? Heads bleed, walls don’t.

Elsewhere, someone quipped, “No one even has a definition what Y means”, so, trying to be helpful, I tried to supply him with one. I got jumped on hard and lumped in with “all the others who don’t know what they’re talking about”. Ooookay. I’m out. Preach to an empty hall, but I ain’t sticking around. Unsubbed from the thread.

I’m just wondering why others just can’t “leave it alone” when it’s clear the other person ain’t gonna give up? Insistence on “being right”? Needing to “get the last word”?

Frankly, I got better things to do. To quote Nathan Ford, “It’s like trying to explain baseball to a dog.”.

I now see 2 rudeness marks on my side bar after this morning.. I guess he’s been loose-cannon on rude-button spree again today. in all the years i been here i know i have never been “rude” to any other member, as i respect everyone a lot here, and always friendly & helpful to everyone i can. its sad when we have a rogue member who joins BLF and seems to repetitively ruin topics like this with disruptive bad behavior. it only takes one person to make the who community begin to feel less comfortable to be in.

Reddit users coming over here. They think the rudeness button is a downvote. I think sb can see who the button clicker’s are.

Personally, I agree with what a few others have said. I think it would be a lot better if the Rude Button were not anonymous. That would most likely do away with the petty clicking of the button. Or at least if it did not, the offenders could be easily identified for group chastisement. Big Smile

Never had a problem with BG (or GB, or FT or even Dino in the good old days). Sure, sometimes stuff hasn’t arrived, or has taken forever, but I’ve always managed to resolve the issue without being out of pocket.

What’s a rude button got to do with all this? Evil

I’ve noticed that it’s easy (well for me at least) to inadvertently press the Rude button when looking at BLF on my phone. Perhaps that’s what’s happening in some cases? Luckily I’ve always caught the mistake before I continued on but others might not do so.
