Review: Sofirn SF36 (XP-L2 V6 2A 1x18650 flashlight)

So this is my review for the Sofirn SF36. I got it through amazon with a very nice discount for an honest review. The light was delivered very quickly in 3 days which was the first positive thing.

The light is equipped with an XP-L2 V6-2A-D 5350-5700K. I would put it more towards 5000K from what i see by eye. But anyway the colour is nice. The LED works in a nice small and not very deep SMO reflector and has a coated glass. There is no recognizable tint shift from spot to spill. The anodisation looks really good in my opinion nothing like a cheapo flashlight. The clip is useful and sits tight. Smooth threading and also anodized threads. It has an integrated head structure and a 20mm driver.
It has four nicely spaced modes and a hidden strobe. Simple and good.
The light comes with a protected 18650 2800mAh battery, a simple charger, usb cable, spare o-rings and a manual which is a bit too small for the very detailed information it contains.

The output is quite impressive for a cheap small stock light. I don´t have a clamp meter so only Multimeter tailcap readings. With the original battery on high around 2.8A. After bypassing the springs i read around 3,4A on a Samsung 30Q and the included battery trips the protection after 1-2 seconds. In stock form this wont be an issue. But I like that you can even improve the nice output by spring bypass and better battery.

All in all i think it´s a great compact allround flashlight. Nothing special except the new XP-L2 LED. But way better than many other flashlights around 30,-€

When i find out how to post pictures here i put them in…

Tom
