Got a mail today (2017 November 17th) from Thrunite again. You get 20% discount at www.thrunite.com with code “2017XMAS”. Valid Nov 15th - Jan 5th.
Some lights are already lowered in price:
TN36 2017 10000 lumen kit: Was $280, now $250.
TN40S: Was $190, now $170
I wonder whether the TN40S is reduced in price, because maybe there will be a successor soon? In that case the most probable I think is the replacement of the XP-L HI emitter with XHP35 HI emitter.
Not cheap, but with the additional discount of 20% it’s much more attractive! Cheers everyone!
Not sure if it is glitch or what, but I got free shipping on the TN4A I ordered yesterday. Originally I had 4 in my cart, and scaled back to 1. Shipping cost did not change even though the order was for $39.96. Getting delivered today already
XPL is roughly 1000 lumens per led. XHP35 is roughly 1500~2000 lumens per led. You can get more lumens, but efficiency will go down. For example Nitecore switched from XPL in the TM26GT (~3500 lumens) to XHP35 in the TM28 (~6000 lumens).
If Thrunite switched to XHP35 in the TN42S, then it will probably produce something like 6000~6500 lumens. Just my guess of course.
No it’s not a fact. The current model is reduced in price, that’s why perhaps there is going to be a new model soon. I’ve seen this in the past with Thrunite.
The price reduction listed on the site is independent of the 20% discount. The 20% discount using a specific code is done about twice a year as far as I know.
