Where to get a Convoy S2+ or S3 for the best price?

It’s great to see so many people commenting on the newest S2+

I’m just starting out and want to get another Convoy. I have a S2+ and an S3. I got them a couple / few months ago from Gearbest or fasttech.

They have them for much lower prices than the ‘official’ site someone posted recently - ‘Simon’s website?’

are those places legit? usually when dealing with the manufacturer directly, you get a better deal than working with a middle man.

Is there some other place to go?

thanks!

Yes they’re legit.
But they don’t offer the same support, like when you have a special request or problems with your light.
But in Simon’s store you can get 15% BLF discount when you send him a message before you pay (after you place an order).

thanks! What’s the website URL for his site? I thought I had it but now I don’t.

And I am reading that thread about the desert color. People talk of biscotti. What’s that : ) ???

And in that desert thread someone posted this:

for about $20.

vs this for $11

(someone posted this link. on the gearbest website, it doesn’t seem to come up in searches).

The LED and color of the tube are the differences to make that much of a price difference? Ah, the cheaper one is 7135x6. I’m just looking for the cheapest brightest light. So I want a 7135x8, right?

This is Simon’s official Convoy store:
https://www.aliexpress.com/store/330416

Biscotti is driver firmware, the new Convoys have this running in the 7135 drivers.
It has many options and high PWM frequency (inaudible).

And looking at what I have already, I like the one with the U2-1A…. more blue white and the brightest. Which would need the 7135x8.

Please correct me if wrong. What’s the best price?!

this says it’s a convoy 2+ but that’s not correct, right? 3 seperate equal areas of knurls? The real one has 3 areas, but only 2 are equal width.

Avoid fasttech?

Thanks for the biscotti=firmware

I’ve heard people talking about that in the forums. I’ve updated firmware on PCs, etc.

How do you update firmware on a flashlight!!

It’s the older version.
You mean the recently released version.
Both are ‘real’.

Hello feetsdr, this is the “short” version, with a 18350 tube. From the picures, looks genuine to me.

To update the firmware you need to get access to the driver, put a clip on the chip, connect to a programmer, connect the programmer via USB to a PC and install the programmer SW. Then choose a firmware that fits the driver, change the settings if you wish and send the fw to the chip.

In theory 7135X8 is brighter than 7135X6. I own both in Convoy S2+ and C8 versions. In reality, my 50 something year old eyes can’t tell the difference in brightness between X6 and X8 and the X8 will have a shorter run time. I wouldn’t buy X8 again.

Apparently the 7135x6 is rated at about 940lm, and the 7135x8 is rated at about 1000lm

the first link shows the light with
