Is theOlight I1 EOS XM-L dead in the water?

Is the Olight i1 EOS XM-L T3 dead in the water since the arrival of the Xtar WK21?

Since they are both available for $35.99.

The Xtar seems better in every way, should Olight discount it's light to $25.99 or Less?

The Xtar has a blinky mode .

Some dislike blinky modes .

Yes the Xtar has a blinky but you can get rid of it.

I forgot .

I guess it comes down to style .

Yes it does come down to style but the Olight look cheap compared to the Xtar. I do not see any benefits in buying the Olight. If the price was $10 less then yes it would be a good but.

Olight - 68 grams

Xtar - 166 grams

So the WK21 draws 2600mA from a 16340 battery with 450mAh capacity (calculated @ 500mA discharge) to output 800 lumens?

http://www.xtarlight.com/en/05-chanpin/p-001-1.asp?styleid=177

Net Weight : 43g(Excluded battery)

Luminance: High 500Lm

Lightake says something else.

I see those are 500 ANSI Lumens on the XTAR website . So I presume those are about 600 or more emitter lumens. Then it would be 2000mA current draw from a 16340 battery with 450mAh capacity (calculated @ 500mA discharge).

I think it's 1.4Amps and it' 500lm at the emitter.

They say ANSI lumens not at the emitter.

Jetbeam has 550 ANSI Lumens for the PC10. So this could be possible.?

I really like the i1, but is the Xtar really that much brighter?

There is only one way to find out but both and tell us please.

I draw 1.7a from an xp-g in a L2m..so 1.7a is possible from a 16340 battery without much issue..I could see 2.0a possible also..wouldn't want to push it past 2a though..

anyone know if the xtar has memory? or starts in high? I have my itp a1 and the low start..

Xtar has a loose clip but Olight has a firm one?

Some like (me for example) clip also as extra grip in twisties.

Still would go with an Xtar in a second

Some 1,4A + - would be nice for me. As long as theres modes, High-high doesn´t bother me.

What were the mode-options with stars on Xtar?

EDIT: Xtar package seems to include 16340 battery but Olight not...

You can draw nearly 3 amps on a regular Li Co TF Flames 16340.

You'll blow it though if you switch it on for long.... :D Can get the BIO IMR 16340? (powerwholesale.net now I think)

Even the Xeno E03 it is 2.2A on Generic unprotected 14500. (IMR) Mitro got 2.4A on the AW IMRs.

500 lumens ANSI OTF lumens is questionable. Not a matter of electrical properties but thermal properties. It's only a friggin 46g! Perhaps at -52 deg C it could do it and yeah it'll keep the battery warm too... (but then the temperature is out of ANSI recommended range already)

But then that's nice.... so we have 2 pocket rockets that are quite budget now. Xtar WK21 and Xeno E03 (main benefit is that it also comes in neutral and warm tints). Too bad i don't have need for a small pocket rocket. I want mid sized pocket rockets. Smile

BTW there is a 12% coupon for lighttake. Search for it.

I would choose the Olight i1 over the Xtar WK21 based on looks.
