"Actually that flashlight is pretty terrific as a host (I believe they were $5 at lowes or something).

I put $6-7 worth of parts and maybe an hour or two worth of work for a fantastic little AA light.

TIR + xpg2 + copper pipe cap + boost driver = great little throw around light."

1. Sir Ormbett of Stockholm

Ah, my first victim...

Thanks for entering the giveaway!

Wow this must be special for you to change your Sig.

Nick of Pensulvania

Yes, I've been thinking about selling stuff on BLF for a long time.

If I can sell some knives, I might try to sell a bunch of flashlights.

Welcome to the giveaway!

Spiny Norman of Luton (Airport)

Soooooo… you kinda like knives, dontcha?

Sir Gangstalot of New Yorkshire Puddington.

I've got way more flashlights than knives, but yes I do.

I'm glad you could join the party, Sir Gangstalot & Spiny Norman!

Mapache, King of the Procyonids

I wonder how many people know what Mapache means or what Procyonids are?

Lol, I don’t suspect too many people will get the joke. If they look it up it will likely be another case of “mapache, you’re not as funny as you think you are” :confounded:

Well, I thought it was funny, after I had to look up "Procyonids."

It has a Dad Joke vibe.

G of V

My name is: Sir Omlette Du Fromage

It's nice to see you, G of V & Sir Omlette Du Fromage!

Sir Bumpy of Sellthread

This guy gets it!

Welcome to the giveaway!

As it turns out, this giveaway is a marketing tool that I'm using to increase exposure for the knife sale.

(Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

^ I’m not sure the marketing is working so well ATM. I find it hard to believe how little interest this thread has generated. I remember playing “I WANT IT” in a couple of threads last year where members were trolling to enter giveaways for days after they had ended.

Haha, I’m pretty sure dad joke vibe is pretty dang close to not as funny as you think you are

Maybe asking BLF members to answer three questions for a chance at seven dollars is asking for too much?

Or maybe there aren't enough Monty Python fans on BLF?

I don't know, but you're right.

My marketing idea isn't working as well as I thought it would.

I'm not a father, but I tell dad jokes all the time in real life.

They're kinda corny, but they make me laugh, so... mission accomplished.

For what it’s worth I generally no longer enter a giveaway held by a private member (until I can afford to host one of my own) but thought this was such a fun idea that I had to take part.

I think the title is a bit too busy, when I first skimmed it I thought this was a US only knife giveaway/sale and only checked it to have a look at some of your collection. Maybe ditch the emoji and make the first word giveaway? However the vibe around here has changed a bit while I was on hiatus. It seems that the popularity of giveaways has declined and there is something else but I can’t put my finger on it at the moment.
