Convoy C8

Hey,
I need recommandtion for 18650 battery for my Convoy C8
about to take it for a few monthes trip abroad
Looking for something that I can order at eBay/GearBest etc…
I have the ML102 Chrager

I use NCR18650GA (my preference), NCR18650B, NCR18650BD, INR18650-30Q, ICR18650-26F, UR18650A, etc
All without protective circuit, I hate them

If it has the common 2.8A - 3.04A driver just about any decent quality cell will be fine. Protected cells shouldn’t be a problem unless you’re using a FET driver. Go for largest capacity or what’s on sale.

Advising sources would be easier if you put your location in your profile for others to see.

In the U.S., 30Q’s are currently on sale here.

High capacity cells are worth their higher price because of their longer run-time. I use a BLF A6 and occasionally an older C8 at work. My spare cell for that is a laptop pull and I can tell which cell is in my light within 15 minutes of use without opening the light. VTC6 or 30Q us the way to go.

Ain’t gonna draw more’n 3A, so any decent cell would work fine. A panny-B or sanny-A would be my first choices. (Panasonic NCR18650B, Sanyo NCR18650GA)

I still use pulls from battery packs (eg, LG gray-wrapped cells) just fine, too.

Thank you all.
Is GearBest sells original batteries?

I don’t see the brand name anyware.

The Panasonic might look good on paper, but I’d go with the Samsung 30Q. The 30Q is the same price, and can deliver way more current if needed (perhaps for other lights). But even at a modest 3A-5A current, the Samsung provides a much higher voltage, so will end up delivering almost the same energy as the Panasonic, despite the lower mAh on paper.

See these two comparisons:

Edit: for some reason, the above links won’t cut&paste properly. Anyway, the watt-hours of each battery is about 10Wh, when driven at 3A-5A.

Okay, the price is even lower.

But can I trust GearBest that this batteries are geniune?
or just order from FastTech?

Yes, I think so. I order from banggood, since gearbest won’t ship to my country. But I think both sites provide genuine batteries.
