I recently got these 10Metre fairy usb light (as per photo). They run on 5V (USB) or AA batteries (3pcsx1.5V).
I got different uses for these lights and i do a fair bit of DIY so i was wondering how i can solder these copper wires and do i need resistors to dampen the voltage?
The USB 10M version has a resistor at the beginning of the LED string, right after the USB wires.
I need to use only 2M for a project and i was wondering whether i can power it with 2x 1.5V AA batteries without any resistors?
Also, i am having difficulties soldering new wires to power the led string. I read the copper wires are covered with some sort of varnish to make it waterproof. any suggestions welcomed!
