For me, a gun mounted light is a serious tool, not a “casual” one.
Magnets seem too “casual” for this intended serious use.
A gun mount needs to be 200% reliable and rock solid.
I don’t have confidence that magnets will do the job.
“Oops! I brought the gun up too fast, and the mount came off”.
It looks like a nice concept, just a few questions. It looks like there is a covering on the magnets, is this to prevent scratches on the barrel? Is this coating designed to withstand the heat of the barrel after multiple shots? I would hate to have to scrape off a goopy mess of plastic that stuck to my barrel.
I’ve used the o’light magnetic version of this mount. I was sceptical but it sticks surprisingly well. I would assume A.F. would use at least as good of magnets as olight?
I am sorry we did not compare our mounts magnets with Olight, well we use the strongest magnets in the market at present.
But we heard Olight mount magnets are very strong too.
