I’m looking for an inexpensive but safe 3s 2-3p pack. At first all I was finding was generic stuff with pouch cells intended for CCTV cameras on eBay and Amazon, but then I noticed that there are Littokala-branded packs with 18650s, and, I think VariCore and Entemple packs come from the same place.
I’m thinking of picking up this 12v (nominal) pack and using it with the guts of a Verizon USB-C/PD car charger for an inexpensive and expandable portable laptop booster/charger.
Has anyone used any of these, or something like them?
I bought one that was listed “6800” from a different seller. It turned out to be closet to 5000mah. Doesnt have a great amp draw will shut off protection switch. I only paid about $15 so I guess you get what you pay for! It would be ok for a UPS for a router or such.
Dont think you will be getting pana 3400s unless it actually says!
I'd speak with the seller to specifically ask him which cells do the packs use. If it sounds too cheap, I'd buy a bigger pack and rip it up upon receipt. If the cells aren't authentic you get a refund, so free big crap pack. ;-)
Cheers :-)
P.S.: By the way, genuine NCR18650B cells only do ≈3200mAh at ≈0.2C rate.
Thanks for the replies. I didn’t expect NCR18650B, but I didn’t know what to expect. So thanks for sharing your experiences.
My intended application will probably have an average draw of a bit over 1A. If my laptop battery is already run down, the draw could be a sustained 3A.
Did you take that photo, Barkuti? If so, how well/badly did the pack perform?
mud_muncher was the pack you got made up of 18650 cells, or was it one of the ones that appear to use pouch/”Lipo” cells?
