What’s the lightest weight/smallest option that meets this criteria?
1. Can charge li-ion and nimh (14500, 18650, AA NiMH, AAA NiMH)
2. Can also act as a power bank, not just a charger
3. Is as small as possible. A single slot is fine.
What I’ve been looking at:
- Liitokala 100 - fits the above, but is a little large
- Miller ML-102 - seems to be li-ion only
- NiteCore F1 - li-ion only
Olight UC - looks perfect, but can’t act as a powerbank!
thanks for the link and education, much appreciated
now Im tempted. I like that it is a USB charger…
My Xtar requires AC, or cig lighter, not my first choice…
How about the Power bank function, compare and contrast?
the Lii-100 being single cell, and the Xtar being dual cell, does either one have a relevant capacity advantage?
Imaginary scenario, going camping for the weekend… No electricity nor Automobile power for 48 hours,
3 items to charge:
1900mAh iPhone, 1200mAh Aspire in 18350 in a PT16 light, 900mAh AAA Eneloop Pro in a Maratac
Total is 4000 mAh
and while we are on the subject of power banks and chargers…
what might be a good Solar Charger option, to recharge the Power Bank, and or to direct charge the iPhone?
hope that’s not too much of a hijack… I just got back from camping with my power bank and saw a friend charge his phone with a solar panel… it seemed to work very well… but I have no direct experience, yet… Something else to buy, oh boy!
I did not actually run out of batteries in any of my devices, and did not use my power bank, but you know, its fun to shop for new toys to fulfill Imaginary Scenarios
Not sure what you’re asking. Obviously the Xtar will be able to supply roughly twice the capacity because you can load it up with 2 cells instead of one. From an efficiency perspective, you can review HKJ’s review graphs for both chargers, but I think they should be pretty close.
You will be able to charge your iPhone by using the Lii-100 as power bank if you put in an already charged Li-Ion cell in it. But what are you going to use as power source to charge the 18350 and the Eneloop Pro cells? Oh, I get it… these are rechargeable flashlights.
true, but the AAA/NiMh Maratac does not, that is why the Lii 100 interests me
as far as the PT16, besides the microUSB option, which could be powered by the power bank, or a Solar charger, the PT16 battery is removable, so with a Solar panel, and the Lii 100 either the 18350 cell or the AAA NiMh could be recharged by solar power to the charger, (when not using the power bank function of those chargers)…
Lii 100, or the twin version is perfect and can charge NimH, LiIon to 4.2 or 4.35V, even LiFePO4. Good powerbank (only when powered with a Lithium cell)
Automatic or manual selection of cell type, will bring back totally discharged cells “from the dead”, selectable 500mA or 1A charge rates.
Good 1A output powerbank. The twin version only has powerbank operation from one of the two cells AFAIK.
A truly great charger for ludicrously little money. Why look any further ?
