Looking for an 18650 light with USB charging, ramping UI and can be used a power bank

What do you recommend for a 18650 light with USB charging, ramping UI and can be used a power bank looking to spend around $50.00.
Paul

Only one I know that has all but one of those is the Boruit Rj02 headlamp, around $10. No power bank function, but a sub $5 Lii100 will do that, chances are you can pick one up on Friday for $1-2. Not ideal for EDC purposes to carry a charger though.

There seem to be a few recent quality single 18650 lights out now with power bank function, but the ones I have seen don’t have ramping, and require an adaptor plug (OTG) to charge another device. All the ones I have seen with two USB ports appear to be cheap junk.

“Looking for an 18650 light with USB charging, ramping UI and can be used a power bank”

I’ve been reading reviews of some flashlights here, but I have yet to notice one that has a power bank function. A power bank would have to have a good sized capacity. And a flashlight with bright output is going to drain battery capacity. So it would probably not be ideal for the batteries to share capacity to the flashlight and the powerbank; unless it has multiple 18650s (in which case, it’s probably a powerbank with flashlight)

For the power bank portion, maybe get a separate small 18650 charger with powerbank function, eg. Lii-100 (inexpensive, although not the smallest). There are some smaller ones I’ve read here (check HKJ’s reviews) but likely more expensive than the Lii-100.

Now with the powerbank out of the picture, let’s focus on the USB charging and ramping UI. So far, the ones I’ve come across here would be:

Astrolux MH10 (seems to be a clone of Imalent DN11)
Imalent HR20
Imalent DM21
(the Boruit RJ-02 has already been mentioned)

(there are likely others, but so far those are the ones I’ve scanned reviews)

HR20 is actually a headlamp but can be used as a flashlight, and from the review I read, its ramping seems to be better than the DM21.
The Boruit RJ-02 is less bright (not Cree LED), and is also a headlamp that can be used as a flashlight, ramping is also said to be a bit hard to use.

(I only selected one or two review links below, but there are others)

Update:
I just saw something that seems to fulfill what you’re looking for (powerbank, flashlight, ramping):
Xiaomi portable flashlight w/ powerbank function (ramping too)

The LED used doesn’t seem to be mentioned though, so the light output is probably not what you’d normally expect from more well known (Cree) bright LEDs…

Highly recommend this light which matches your description

Doesn’t look bad, but no power bank function.

Unlike what stated above, there are some flashlight / powerbanks. For example:

  • Ruinovo 102
  • Fitorch P20R
  • Fitorch P30R
  • (already mentioned Xiaomi)

None has a good UI. And all are either poor lights or are needlessly large - which makes them poor powerbanks.

Personally I keep seeking something very similar to what the OP does, though I would find 21700 somewhat better. I believe there is no such light on the market yet. :frowning:

As to using a separate charger - that’s useless bulk. A charging circuit inside flashlight takes way less space.

My dream light is Emisar D1s, but:

  • 21700
  • slightly larger, so it has USB-C port and a charging circuit
  • XHP50.2 with the Schoki’s driver for 4000+ lm and great efficiency (1000 lm OTF for 2.5h, 300 lm for 9h?, 100 lm for 24h?).
  • with indicator LED

Banggood appears to have this same light at half the price (as of the moment) since it’s on flash sale now:

I think for most people a flashlight as an everyday carry goes in a bag or in the dashboard, perhaps in a toolbox. Unless your work environment regularly requires a portable light source it is there as an occasional convenience or for emergency use. An 18650 battery of decent capacity will charge any phone enough to get you through an unexpected delay, a long trip, a power outage, emergency calls at the side of the road, and still power the flashlight at medium level for hours. Add a spare battery and you’re all set for a weekend without power.

Very similar, but it’s not the same. the other one dimmed by holding the switch and advertises a different LED, this one appears to slide forward at the head like a zoomie. Oh, it is a zoomie!
Most lights like this are absolute crap, it would be surprising if this was different.

I bought one of those Elfeland T6 “2000 Lumens” rechargeable power bank lights to see what everyone was complaining about with the cheapies. It was shocking. Maybe 200 lumens, badly put together, doesn’t make contact half the time, and a thin metal strip running along a plastic sleeve to connect the front to the back.

very few lights have power bank, very few have ramping UI

the combination of both you cant buy atm as far as my knowledge of current commercial lights is

you might look inside a light with power bank function and mod it with a NarsilM driver

Those Fitorch look nice, though a bit on the expensive side. I tried looking around, and notice there’s a big brother of the Fitorch - P26R, which uses XHP70 LED and accommodates 26650 (higher capacity).

Did a bit more digging around (so the OP’s requirements of “ramping” is removed, but I just looked for “flashlight” and “powerbank”, and there seem to be other less well-known brands, like the JinHeng JKK flashlight+powerbanks. These seem to be available in Banggood (JKK18, JKK35, etc)and other online stores too. But as Agro mentioned, their UI don’t seem to be good (I suppose we here get spoiled by the various great customizable flashlight firmwares).

Nicolicous,
I have been looking for info/review on this one but having trouble finding it. I know its on here but striking out in search for the unbranded light.
Curious if it’s been taken apart.

Nick

Everyone thanks for all the information and suggestions, I ended up going with https://www.banggood.com/Fitorch-P20R-XP-L2-1180Lumens-Rechargeable-Tactical-Mini-LED-Flashlight-p-1205716.html?rmmds=myorder&cur_warehouse=CN it checked all my boxes except for step less dimming and I found a code for it and saved about 50%. I played with it a little bit very nice light, it a X-mas gift for my son. next time I see it on sale I will get one for myself.
