Yeah, not only has Astrolux recently released the MF04, they also did the MF04S and the MF02S. So they have been busy. Big Smile

My Convoy L6 thread with XHP70.2, Texas Avenger FET driver, Narsil v1.2 ramping firmware (old), lighted side switch and cut down SMO reflector. Lots of amp draws on stock driver as well.

My Supfire L5-S thread with XHP70.2, 26350 cells (4,100 lumen!), Texas Avenger FET driver, NarsilM v1.0 ramping firmware and lighted side switch. My mini L6!

Modded S70S with MTN FET driver, RampingIOS (D4) and lighted side switch.

+1
At least, with BLF projects we get to discuss led tints, driver specs, ano quality, springs stiffness, square threads roundness and many other very interesting aspects of the project. That helps wait for the next prototype or beamshot…

The worst part of it is that i didn’t buy an other MF-0X light other then the 01 because i’m expecting this particular MF-03… because of this thread. Facepalm

This one does look interesting. I decided not to get a DX80 at this time, I’ll wait to see how this one turns out. JasonWWW mentioned the MF04s and MF02s. Does anybody know where some decent videos are for these? I’ve been looking and I find a few still shots but no videos. I’ve purchased the MF04 (gave to my brother-in-law) and also the MF02 for me. I’d like to see a decent video where the MF04 is compared to the MF04s and the MF02 is compared to the MF02s. If you have any links please let me know. I’ll watch those while waiting for more info on the MF03.

Try a search with Mateminco MT35 ( = Astrolux MF02) and Mateminco MT70 ( = Astrolux MF04).

No, thats not right:

MT35 = MF02
MT70 = MF02S
MT35 Plus = MF04
MT70 Plus = MF04S

Ten month after this thread was started, what’s the status for this light project?

Think the light was planned to take the lead in the lumens war but Imalent and Acebeam are dropping nukes.

R90C and MS12 are too strong in spec. MF03 can still win over price if price is right. Are they still working on this MF03?

cool i'll see you when you get there

Just forget it.. make 21700 carrier that fit 8 cells, and put as many as xhp70.2 you can fit in the mf03.. call it done.

For a good buck driver, Lexel was recommending 10 × 18650 to get 21 volts. It’s about the same diameter as the other options.

4 × 18650 can fit in a 44mm circle.
5 × 18650 needs a 49mm circle.
4 × 20700 needs a 49mm circle.
4 × 21700 needs a 51mm circle.

I think the one bonus feature of the MF03 that made it stand out was the added throw from the single xhp35-HI in the middle.

For the MF03 to compete, they may need to enlarge the head diameter to fit more 70.2 (from 7 to maybe 9 or 10) then maybe a bigger reflector for the xhp35-HI.

There are also TIR lenses that fit 70.2. I wonder if they would boost throw by narrowing the spill and improving efficiency. It could set this light more apart from others.

The 44mm is ideal case. Many 4×18650 flashlight has about 50mm battery tube, BLF GT is largest at 55mm.

Ya, that is the nice feature of MF03 with middle XHP35 HI. Someone has to talk to Imalent to put a XHP35 HI or XPL HI for the center LED of MS12, it may hit 250kcd but slightly lower max lumens. Or just factory dedome the center XHP 70 led, it should help. I was thinking can they dedome all the LED.

cool i'll see you when you get there
