[Quick look] Reylight Pineapple Mini

Just got this in from Amazon today. Rey has a code to buy them. Pineapple Mini AAA/10440, 3 mode copper twisty. Nichia 219C 4000K emitter with an OP reflector.

Got to say it’s a sweet little light. Other than the A01 BLF Edition, it’s the only other AAA light I own.

I’ll let the pictures tell the story, but one thing to watch out for is, the driver wasn’t tightened down on mine, so I had to get in there with a toothpick and snug it up. A pair of needle nose tweezers would work better. I mention this since some will probably be giving these out as gifts and recipient might think the light is broken if it happens to them.

Also, mode memory works with AAA’s but not with 10440. I’m using the 10440 and prefer no memory with these twisty’s anyway. Rey says it’s a defect in this first batch, I personally don’t see it as a defect. But if it bothers some, he said he would mail out a fixed driver.

Enjoy…

The Mini Pineapple polishes up nicely. It has a clear coat on it. I took a small paint brush, brushed on some paint stripper and scrubbed it with a toothbrush. Coating came right off. Polished it with a Cape Cod cloth. It’s like a little jewel now.

With a red trit

They are wonderful to look at, got one in today as well. I will run mine on AAA only. Second twisty that I really like, the A01 was the first and now this little beauty. I like the grip and the tight head fit, should work well in a pocket.

EDC rotation:

Convoy S2+, H17F, XM-L2 4C, lighted tailcap

Rey has the high CRI Nichia and reflector focus dialed in really well. Better than any other AA or AAA lights I’ve seen. The original A01 Cu BLF Edition is quit nice though.

Can’t get mine to run using an Efest flat top 10440.
Gotta track down a button top 10440, so I can see this beauty at work!

I'm unable to duplicate this with an AAA battery. Does anyone else get any kind of memory mode with an AAA?

Oh wait, I think this explains it - I must have the fixed version;

You can put a solder blob on top of the cell

Are the ‘fixed’ versions being sold on amazon now??

Probably not. But since they’d be like any other light without memory, I see nothing wrong with them

Yes, the fixed version is being sold on Amazon, that's where I got mine - it has no memory mode with either battery type. Ordered Nov 19th.

I just got mine from Amazon. It has a very touchy head. It has “bounce” when turning it on. It will go through several cycles. I am thinking it might be the coating on the copper and plan on removing it to see what that does. It is like an intermittent connection between body and head.

Make sure the pill is snug. Some needle nose tweezers will tighten it if it’s loose. Mine was loose and started to back out every time I turned the head. The driver is press fitted into the pill.

Yep that’s what I had to do to fix mine. Tightened it up and it works great now.

Mine was tight. A first cleaning with paint remover has helped. It needs more work. The clear coat is causing intermittent contact.
