What light to buy next? convoy? Haikelite?

Been thinking of what to buy lately. Sjould I buy the convoy l6, I already have the thorfire s70s. Or should I get the haikelite mt07s or mt01? I'm leaning towards the l6, but got the haikelite mt03 gen 1 don't know.  Are the haikelites good? I hear good things  of the l6 and it uses 2x26650, which is ok, but haikelites use 3 or 4 18650's which tend to be annoying that all batteries always need to be charged as well as equal charge. What do you think? I know it's a personal opinion aswell as preference but...

Convoy > all Big Smile
You won’t regret the L6, but there is a fair chance that you will have problems with the HaikeLite
Get the L6 in “Clear” anodizing and you will fall in love with that thing
If you want a thrower – check out the Convoy L2 with XP-L Hi

I like Haikelite a lot. But unfortunately I have to agree with L4M4; there are a lot of problems. I have a 5 out of 5 failure rate, and currently I’m waiting for 4 drivers to arrive. But I can also tell you that performance is awesome, especially the MT07S. The great thing is that the driver is easily replaceable; nothing is glued.
I also have the L6 and it is a great light. But in terms of output and beam profile it’s very close to S70S or not? One word of caution, if you’re getting the L6, you’d better double check whether your 2×26650 cells of the S70S are going to fit inside the L6. If you use protected cells, then it might not fit the L6, so that would be a bummer.
How about the Emisar D4? This is the light I recommend people these days! Cool

yeah the haike's seem good for modding but otherwise not so much? Good as a build host?

Probably will go with l6 then. I'm using liitokala 26650's blue. I'm only concerned with extra customs duties and fees but my understanding is that ali and bg mostly undervalue packages to clear this sort of thing? Emisar? gotta check it out now...

Haikelite is excellent as host. Personally I’m also very happy with stock performance, although this does vary with model. I think the MT07S is amazing in stock form (my battery indicator does not work though). I’m also happy with MT02, except this one doesn’t work at all, ugh…
Yes, vendors undervalue packages almost always. And yeah, you should check out D4; absolute king in terms of performance and quality, and a reference light as well. You can get this one at http://intl-outdoor.com/emisar-d4-high-power-led-flashlight-p-921.html
Other amazing budget lights are the Astrolux MF01 and MF02 by the way. Big Smile

i have convoy c8, s2+, haikelite sc02, mt07, and the little zommie( i forget the name, lol)
i can say both brands are good, i like my sc02 because thick tube, built it charging, and great tint(mt-g2 is very good), mt07 is a big boy with high lumen and throw but not expensive
but the sc02 and the zoomie boys have some minor problems, like the oring

for convoy, i can’t find anything disappointing, except the UI of convoy s2+, which can be fixed by programming the driver

ps:sorry for my bad English Big Smile

Forgot my pen

I’ve bought 4 Haikelite and have problems with every one of them. The driver board and or switches are a problem with all of them. Go with the Convoy L6.

Best regards,

Matthew

Haikelite is what in my country we call “monkey with a magnum 44”

I have one MT07 4S from factory groupbuy, 2 problems
The LED star placed out of place and bended and the battery carrier with bad welding
All fixed but problems

Sorry for my bad English (gogole translator)

Is there a way to buy only the host version? The haikelites seem a tad expensive as hosts if paying full-price just to swap everything out, but I guess the convoy l2 host only is around $40 so they’re not outrageous at all.

hannesremo, does this mean you already have the MT03 gen 1? Please explain what you meant by “got the haikelite mt03 gen 1 don’t know” ?

I’m having the same thoughts as the OP’s question, what (super-light) to buy next?

Sounds like a Love/Hate relationship for HaikeLites, people love the form & concept, but hate the problems that go with them. Other than the OP’s mention of the V1 nothing else said here about HaikeLite MT03 II Devourer That’s the one I’ve been considering lately (V2) So I was wondering anyone’s opinion on it…

Also considering the Astrolux MF01, or both.
I was considering the Q8 before I began looking at these two.

L6 is a no-brainer, as well as the D4, (both are a must have) And please keep the suggestions coming!
