Samsung ICR18650-58F !!!

A buddy of mine brought today flashlight for a repair and with it this two batteries. At first I was like “O nice, genuine samsung cells” but that “58F” was just a bit too strange so I had to look for it and I didn’t found much about them! Anyone saw this before?
Obviously protected, button top, third party product (because “Samsung” on negative side)…

That’s odd. Button top under the pink wrapper?

99.9+% fake. ( ಠ ͜ʖರೃ)

The big OEMs don't spend a single dime in retail sh1t. Protection circuits and “58F” wrap markings, this means only one overall possible result: a wrongly wrapped UltraFake cell.

Cheers ^:)

Tried this with SST40 + FET driver, protection kicks in at 4A :person_facepalming:

good luck

Tear the wrapper off one and let us know what’s underneath. You can easily rewrap it.

I would if they were mine.
I am discharging them now and will test how much mAh they can store.
They are used in series so load per cell will not be high.

phoney balony fake male bovine excrement.
everything visual screams whateverfire trash.

… And somewhere in China someone is like “Hey… WhateverFire… I’ll use that…”

Or maybe it has become WadevaFire.

Capacity tested, one slightly below 2500mAh and one slightly above 2500mAh…

Button-topping is not done by Samsung, but by a third party.
I got 8 pc. button top 30Q from BG for the GT, with the button top under the second wrapper.
On my Opus they did 2,932 - 2,994 mAh at 0.5A. Nothing wrong with those.

Well… surprising!

Probably just some old stock 26F cells. I don’t know why they even tried to put them as 58F.

Maybe they’re selling them on eBay as 5800mAH cells? :person_facepalming:
