I have bought some unbranded lights like the Hugsby XP1. I have found them to be fine. They work and seem good for gifting.

SkyWolfEye is a very cheap brand. Just don’t expect much.

Thanks, David. I have not seen one yet
I have bought some unbranded lights that seem identical to the Huxsby XP1. The Huxsby lights have gone up in price, but I buy the unbranded for less than $4.00. The average person is not looking for multiple modes or worried about the beam color, but just wants a light to turn on and off when needed. These “Hugsbys” seem to do that well, and make good gifts to the ladies in the church who might be out a little after dark. I am using one myself to see if it continue to be reliable. So far so good.

The Hugsby clones I bought from Ebay had issues.
Both lots of 5 units had 1 light that would not power on.
Therefore, I don’t trust the clones—even as gifts.
Several threads here about similar issues.

Thanks, Travis. So far mine have been OK, but I have more on order so we’ll see.
I don’t want to gift faulty lights either.
Jerry

for that price u cant go wrong really, even if its a fake clone or something.

Fake Hugsby’s go at 1,3 at ali, ok for gifting.
Skywolf should be below that

i think its same just has the name skywolf on it… i have on hugsby myself, most like a fake clone but for the price i paid its a decent light.

Non-thermal radiation,
Switch Location: Tial

it has both 2000 lumens (low i guess) and 3500 lumens (high?) !!!

such a deal
i have one of their lights, it is ok for the price but if you spend $10 on a lumintop tool, it will be 25 times better

How about these?

would have to know modes, lumens, price
they look cheap
the button look nice, finish seems nice
not wild about the decoration though

Right, point is you never know what you will get.

Truth is, I bought these 5 1/2 years ago. $1.65 each would have been too much!
Regular price was a dollar.

I don’t know about those particularly, but I bought a pack of four made similarly to that from Big Lots several years ago for $10 and I didn’t regret it. They were surprisingly nice hosts, and the tube is threaded the same at the head and the tail, so it can be flipped around and still work. I’ve modded some by putting two tails on, using one as a shorter head with different guts. The boost driver it came with was surprisingly decent as well. The battery tube jacket and the button cover in the tail were both made from GITD material.

Hey, another AAA zoomie, genuine Skywolfeye (in the OP) :+1:
There’s a 2x AAA version too.

I have bought over 15 of the Hugsby clones and have not found any that were faulty. The Lixada brand seems to be equal to the Hugsby. The ones marked Enjoydeal are OK, but have 1-2 fewer threads than Hugsby. None have failed.
I have also purchased some SS 1 AAA lights, but the threads are so poor that about half of them are not usable.

As posted I buy these lights to give to people in the church or elsewhere and they don’t care about multiple modes, but only a light that turns on/off to walk to the car. Personally I have liked the Hugsby clones, and have dropped several to check them and none were damaged. I have been carrying one as my EDC to see if they do OK. Even the unbranded are worth the price. I ordered some from Ali today and expect they will be about the same.

Just for info for anyone looking for cheap lights for gifts.

$1.38 great beam for the price, one mode,

The problem with the cheap Hugsby clones is that the poor quality threads are quite fragile (a bit of grease may help)

You are correct, and, yes, I use teflon grease. I makes a big difference.
I was surprised to find that at least some of the Skywolf AAA lights are zoomies. I like them. Don’t have any idea as to their longevity.

If you buy the Hugsbys in lots of 5 they run about 4-5 bucks each.
