I wanna buy a Thrunite TN36 but...

It’s too expensive.
Is there any way to get a discount or something?

Why not a Q8 and change the leds for SST40’s? with the spring bypass it should get you about the same lumens…

Thrunite drops prices about 20% in Christmas time.

No they don’t. There is a discount code around Christmas that reduces prices with 20%: ThruNite 20% discount 2017 Nov 15th - 2018 Jan 5th

We both say the same.I have bought TN40S,TN42 and TN36 2017,with some kind of coupon direct from Thrunite, because they have a special delivery system.

The problem I have with your statement is that the OP could interpret this as that prices are automatically reduced with 20% near Christmas on Thrunite.com. This is not going to happen, and in January he could find out there was a code to be used and then it is too late.
Sorry if I sound a bit like a robot. :weary:

You understand that this light is not the same as this one. http://www.thrunite.com/thrunite-kit-tn36-2017-10000-lumen-flashlight/

It’s also quite unfortunate that this 2017 version was released right before 70.2 was available. For this much money I do want the latest and greatest…

The discount & code is listed on the front page of their store, it’s hard to miss.

Good point! I do however have a different page of their site bookmarked which makes the discount code not visible. I figured it out because I got an email. But I think I understand Theodore’s point much better. :+1:

Is it possible to swap the emmitters to the new ones, and what would be cost and benefit?

It’s possible, but the emitters are not exactly cheap, and you can mess it up and destroy the emitters if you don’t know what you’re doing. Potential problem with emitter swap is discussed here: Xhp70.2 burned up in thorfire s70 why?
Benefit would be perhaps just a bit more output, but light runs a bit less hot. You probably get just a bit more throw as well.
