https://www.foursevens.com/products/P2-AE

can’t imagine these lasting very long……

there ya go again….LOL  :+1:

Got one…Thank you

welcome! Last time they had the Preon P1 on sale for $12 and I got a few of those, and hoped that eventually they would have the P2s on sale. Glad you were able to get one.

Hi Pat,
You did it again! I wasn’t interested in the Preon but went over to the site and noticed the Mini MK ll was half price for $20.00 with free shipping and went for it. Another light I don’t need!

Excellent work…another flashlight inbound

on the clearance page it says: “Save big on Clearance, Open Box, and Refurbished items!
Updates here every Friday morning - Quantities VERY limited while supplies last!
All clearance items are tested and sold AS-IS - all sales final.”

How do you know which is open box or refurb?

You really don’t know, open box or refurb.
And 4-7 will be out of business come 2018. Supposedly it has been sold…

i don’t like the as is portion, and what happens to warranty after they close up shop? I have a few 47’s lights, all are great, but not sure I’m willing to risk it.

Must be because they are shutting down huh…

Think I’m gonna get the Mini Mk II.
Does anyone know of a good high discharge RCR123 battery
equivalent to or better than the Four Sevens battery?

get the combo for $7 more, you get the batt and USB charger. Charger alone is worth $10 and it is the same as Olight. Charger is nice and compact, pretty universal too.
and if you are looking for more batts make sure they are button tops.

Any good RCR123a or 16340 cell will work. IMR’s are better of course for high drain but the others will still operate the Mini.

Received my Mini MK II today. I can guarantee you that the example I received is brand new. Packaging was perfect and so was the light. They couldn’t have repackaged this one and it works perfectly.

I really like it! It’s a great 123 light and so tiny and for $20.00 a real bargain. Thanks Patrick!

Well, after my glowing report, I spoke too soon. After a few test cycles which it worked fine, it’s now stuck on high and won’t change to any other mode.

I’ve tried everything I can think of to get the modes back but it’s high mode or nothing. I even tried turning it off and on quickly 10 times several times which they recommend for changing mode configuration but no dice.

I’ve contacted them through e-mail to see if there’s anything I can do to get it to work correctly so I’ll wait and see what they say.

I guess maybe some of you who were hesitant about purchasing may have been smart to do so. I’ll give Foursevens the benefit of the doubt and hopefully they’ll make things right but being that David has just sold the company and it’s almost Christmas, it’s a crapshoot.

OOps, just realised you got the mini MKII I have that light too. Try loosening the head slightly and pressing it in 10 times to get into menu. You will have to hold down once there. LMK is it works. Disregard the following P2 info.

Clearance items sold as is without warranty, so good luck getting help with it. I really hope you do get some suggestions to fix it.

I haven’t been happy with the previous clearance 4-7 lights I got but I still went for this deal. Mine will be delivered today.
Prestine packaging… things can be repackaged. And I am sure the tolerances are inspected during manufacturing and get sorted accordingly. Clearance items are most likely the assembled lights with parts that should have been rejected.

If mine shows similar issues and I can resolve it, I will post my fixes. As a guess your driver pill may need to be tightened inside the head. Might also be a bad SW. What batts you using?

Hi VW,
Thanks so much for your reply!

I did think of tightening the head down to where it was almost tight to where you could activate it on just by pressing on the tailcap while holding the head. This gave me lightening fast on/off activations and I did the 10 on/off activations over and over until the moon mode suddenly came on!

There was no blinking telling you what configuration it was in but at least it was in a different mode than high! I then tried twisting it on and off and got it to change to moon, medium and high.

I also found if I use one hand twisting it, it won’t change modes sometimes. You have to use BOTH hands as it takes a FIRM OFF cycle to activate the modes.

I’ll try tightening the driver pill and see if that helps. Thanks again!

Oh yeah, I’m using some AW IMR 16340 cells that I purchased a few years ago that still charge up to 4.18V.

No problem,
you do need button top batts for this mini MKII.
If batts are a couple years old you may want to look into getting a charger that can test capacity and internal resistance. Liitokala Li-500 can be had for under $20.
Just that something don’t seem right to charge to 4.18V. I am not familiar with that battery and do not know what the discharge current capabilities are.

My mini MKII driver pill seems glued and wont turn. I tried to take it apart when I got it. I have the copper and Ti and wanted to swap emitters, no go as it did not come apart.

Well, 4.18 isn’t too bad. The AW cells are button tops, (550mAH 2.0WH), high drain MIRs and seem to work fine. I even tried a brand new 3V CR123A with the same results.

I did try tightening the pill and it did tighten up somewhat but made no difference. It’s still wonky and has a mind of it’s own sometimes. It’ll light up to the last mode you turned it off with but when trying to change modes you don’t know what you’ll get. It’ll go to moon sometimes, maybe high or you just never know.

Oh well, it’s been an adventure for $20.00. It sure would be a nice light if it worked as advertised. At least it’s not just stuck on high but who wants a light that you have to fiddle with for a while to get to the mode you want?

I’ll just keep fiddling!

Is the MkII a twisty? I’ve had horrible luck with the 4sevens twisty lights. IMO, they’re not very good quality.

My Quarks (button interface) are great. I’m not keen on the cool-white tint, but other than that they’re very good lights.

IMO, 4sevens reached its peak a few years ago. They’ve gone downhill since then. I’m not surprised they’re going out of business. I guess I can throw away my receipts… won’t be needing that 10 year warranty.
