Has anyone here modded an Acebeam k60 emitter

I was thinking changing my original emitter being a 1st gen xhp 70 to reflowing a newer xhp 70.2 and shaving the dome and wanted to know if anyone else has sucessfully done it yet?All input is appreciated

I have modded for 3 German TLF members the K60
One 4000K 2 5700K

Emitter swap is easy he bezel is not glued

Added a 0.1 Ohms resistor to driver measured 16.5% more current in the tail cap, so about 22% more on the LED

Bridged all springs

To get to the driver to add a 0.1Ohm one is a pain as the screw heads are glued
I used my Dremel with a 0.75mm tip to get most of the gleu out of the head, then used 3000dCelsius oxygen-gas burner to burn out remaining glue and heat up locally

Then it was easy to unscrew the driver mounting screws

Thank you lexel did you notice any improvement in performamce?i think i will try everything except changing the resistor…

Omg blowtorch to screws??
Use acetone, softens glue.

2 component epoxy laughs about Acetone
there was almost 2mm thick glue on top of the screw and also below it

Heat is way better than acetone on epoxy
Its not a regular blowtorch its 3400°C Oxygen fueled gas burner, you can basically get a lot of heat in a small area without heating up the whole thing

Acetone worked perfect with my K40M glued screws. No damage done during disassembly.

I may try on next mod

Heat also does no damage, just clean up the burned residue
