Moon RC2 alternatives

I have an RC2, its a great light but i am looking for something with a similar “beam pattern” but has more brightness, has removable or better yet AA battery capability and is not too pricey.

So far i have found a few candidates but none are compelling, just wondering if anyone has other ideas that i have not come across.
Its not a lantern, not a spotlight, if you have one of these lights you probably understand.

Alternatives, but do you know of more/better ones?

Kind of an oddball light that can be used many different ways .
Depending on your specific use there may be a better option …… Does it need to be clipped to you ? usb rechargable ? 18650 or AA ?

18650 is acceptable, AA is better
Clippable preferred but not necessary
USB does not matter at all

I have a RC2 Moon and love it. If you seek an alternative that runs on AA cells, I’d look at the Manker E03h - it has a diffuser that slides on and off the lens, which is a very nice design. I have a E02h (the AAA cell version) and find it very useful and well-made, especially for the price.

The Manker is a side light, not a lantern/flood/not a spotlight light this is.
In the interim (being a year old thread) my RC2 has had the clip break, Xtar could not send me a repair part.
I have concluded this light is meant to be disposable, can’t be modded, can’t get repaired and when the battery goes it won’t work well. But you can run it straight off a charger and i bought two more at half price and use them when i need a clip.
This form factor is excellent however, if a competitor built a 4AA higher output light in the same style with replacement parts and moddable it would be an excellent light.

I know the Maker headlamps well - as I said, I own one. I mentioned the Manker because the diffuser is clearly intended to enable the light to be used as a lantern. And, in my experience, it works. I’m sorry you don’t see it that way, but the diffuser comes with every light, and that is clearly what the manufacturer intended by including the diffuser.
