Rifle thrower: Single mode with 1" tube?

I’m looking for a new light for the .22LR.
I’m currently using an old UltraFire WF-501B.
I’ve got a red one which is useless beyond 20 metres (and makes me dizzy), and a white one which is pretty good…
I’m sure there’s something better out there.

Budget: under $20 would be nice, but I can go to $30 if pushed.

- White/neutral

- 1” tube

- 1 mode < IMPORTANT!

- Powered by 1x18650

- Must be able to comfortably reach out to 50 metres

- Spot/throw is preferred over flood

- Tail switch

  • Don’t need or want a pressure switch

Any ideas?
Thanks

Convoy C8, with the new Biscotti firmwre that you can configure in one-mode-only by yourself (mode 12)
Convoy C8

Convoy C8 with XP-L HI emitter. There are several driver configurations available. Surely a single mode is available too. Great build quality, and larger reflector for increased throw.

I’ve got a few older C8s that I LOVE. I didn’t know they were available in a configurable single mode.

Any links to a BLACK C8 with the Biscotti firmware?
I’m not too fussed about having the latest and greatest emitter, as long as I can make it single mode I’ll be happy.

Thanks guys!

EDIT:
Or, if it’s not available in black (I can’t find one), can I simply swap the guts out of a new Biscotti version into one of my old black C8s?

Pretty sure that’s possible. Biscotti is fairly advanced with (apparently) a single mode option. You also have a single mode driver: http://intl-outdoor.com/amc71358-1mode-circuit-board-nanjg-105c-304a-p-643.html
It’s best to take the driver out your old C8 to check measurements etc. I’m not a modder so I’m not 100% certain about this.

You can buy one mode driver if you want

Or you can contact Simon and he will make it the way you want.

Go here to order a black (or gray) C8 with Biscotti. That is the official storefront for Convoy lights. The Black and Gray C8 models do not come with Biscotti by default, but it is available on request. The Clear model comes with all the nicest options by default.

If you want Black, go here. The other Black model listed uses the older XM-L2 emitter, while this model has the XP-L HI, which is much better if you are looking for a thrower.

Select the LED tint you want (I would recommend the U6 3A option) and select one of the 7135x8 options (it doesn’t matter which one in this case). Add it to your cart, and start checking out. You should get to a page where you can add a note to your order. Here, add a note that says something along the lines of “I would like to upgrade to Biscotti firmware and AR glass”. DO NOT SUBMIT PAYMENT INFO. You should reach a point where the order has been created, but you haven’t paid yet. Simon (owner of Convoy) will then adjust the price of the order to account for the upgrades. Once he has adjusted the price, you can then submit payment. You can also request to pay via PayPal, if you prefer.

If you would like a Gray model, you would follow the same steps, but you would want to upgrade the emitter to an XP-L HI. So your note would look like “Would like to upgrade to XP-L HI emitter in U6 3A tint, with Biscotti Firmware and AR Glass”
