My “quality” 18650 button top cells are protected 3400 mHa, (supposedly), evva-tech cells, (evva-tech.com), that I purchased a couple of years ago and keep them charged regularly. They have very low profile button tops which should work.
I built 2 of the E2Ls, one for me, and one for a friend.
We both love them, insane amount of light and good build quality in a size that fits in a front pocket.
XP-g3 w/H17F drivers, one mode group of L,M,H all regulated and double tap for turbo w/ temp regulation set to almost burning hot.
The second mode group if I am going out to a “questionable” neighborhood, w/single 3A on/off and DT strobe @ max.
I feel like this is nearly the perfect set-up for me in a hot light. Most people will never know the double tap is there, and thermal regulation seems to work well.
Jaxman E2l is a great host, and I am sure their factory lights are fine too.
Shameless plug for Dr.Jones H17f driver too, it is quickly becoming my “go-to” for single cell lights.
Do mind that if you buy a complete E2L, that the ledboard is glued in and impossible to remove. So changing the leds is as good as impossible. If you have some modding in mind, buy the E2L as a host, in that case you have to buy the ledboard and optic (and of course driver and leds) separately.
Thanks for the replies. I admire you modders a lot but unfortunately I don’t have your talents. I was just wondering if the light is worthwhile in it’s stock form.
