This battery needs to be rewrapped or replaced?

Rewrapped/replaced? or okay?

You can buy shrink wrappers for next to nothing. I’d go that route, based on my OCD tolerance.

Chris

That pic is too small to see properly.

However do NOT use it as is, that bare metal is possibly -ve and could easily cause a short. If the only damage is to the wrapper and the white ring both can be replaced.

Edit- is that shiny spot even bare metal?

The first image I tried to use was absurdly massive, guess I over corrected. I think what you’re talking about is the white ring under a piece of the wrapper that pulled away, but either way, sounds like rewrapping it is the right move. I think I knew this would be the answer, just needed to hear it from strangers on the internet. Thanks!

In future when posting a pic you can use the sunset button, and where it says Relative Width %, you type in how wide you want the image in relation to the page width.

Basically, if you have to ask, just replace it. The wrappers are super cheap. Those look like they might be protected cells though which makes it a little harder of a job though compared to unprotected cells which are super straightforward.

For picture sizing, if you have the ability to choose the actual dimensions, usually between 800-1000 on the long-edge is currently good for forums. Enough detail without being obnoxious.

Have never purchased wrappers. Where’s the best places to buy them?

Here’s a start. He only sells the clear type but It will still work.

I bought a small roll of it to re-wrap a protected 18650 and it is good stuff.

Or go nuts and buy 300 of em!
