Nice cells, but for now I want to “save” them and burn down some LGs for a while, but these critters are long.
“Standard” 4×18650 cases will barely fit 2 cells in positions 2 and 3, but it’s hard to close, and they don’t latch shut. Ditto waterproof Shoshine cases.
Any cases from the big’n’tall shop that’d fit these?
Haven’t compared them to panny-Bs, which I once measured at 69.9mm or so, and haven’t measured these yet (misplaced my calipers measuring lugnuts :confounded: ).
Oh! That’s exactly the case I tried before. I just recalled that I could lay them down the long way and they’d fit, but those were cases for my 18350s instead.
I’m not sure where I got them, but a while ago I bought two ballistic nylon cases with a velcro flap for under $10. They hold panny b’s with room to spare. They look like this … (i’m not recommending the site / store and have no interest in it - this is just what came up when I searched for nylon 18650 battery case).
The funny thing is, the “default” cases that come with, you’d be able to lay down the cells sideways for that extra length, but the rib running down the middle keeps you from doing that.
So instead of being rounded to just keep the cells from sliding back’n’forth, it’s a straight-across wall a few mm high.
