Weird question… One can already get that under $20… Or what exactly do you mean with dual mode? Two brightness levels?

I think Nitefox is referring to their UT20, it has two separate mode groups: tactical and outdoor.

Like everyone else so far I voted for under $20, which could be $19.99.

At BLF we are exposed to a vast selection of similar lights in that category, and many time we are offered deals on them for around $20. A suggestion would be to set the amazon price at $29.99 and offer BLF members a promotional code for $19.99 to get some exposure, especially if it’s a new offering.

Fortunately on the Outdoors group it’s hidden (double click) (long press – 2 seconds) so it’s not part of the main loop.

.

Strobe is #2 on the Tactical group, but at least its not FIRST!!

On the “Outdoor” group, the Strobe is accessed by long pressing the side switch! Not too long or that will enter on the “tactical group”.
On the “Tactical” group it is High – Strobe – Low! On that group mode the light is operated only through the tailswitch (forward switch). The Side switch is only use to go back to the “outdoor group”, through a long click in any mode.

Thanks for clarifying, guess I confused “2 second press” with 2 presses, either that or I confused it with a different light (been looking at a few today) So I edited my post with the correction.

For the “Tactical” group I’m aware that it is High – Strobe – Low, Smile that’s why I wrote “Strobe is #2 on the Tactical group, but at least its not FIRST”

(then below I link to my post about a flashlight that has a strobe first group)
.

I like how the UT20 tactical group disengages the side switch completely, that will be helpful to avoid changing modes accidentally if you accidentally grip the light over the side switch.

I assume the UT20 side switch (outdoor mode) does not have an off or standby? Just Moonlight-Low-Medium-High-Moonlight-Low-Medium-High-repeat in a continuous loop correct?

Eheh, no problem Wink I noticed that the “2” over there was confusing and seeing and using so many UIs result on that Big Smile
When I wrote about the Strobe groups/modes I was just reinforcing your words and helping to “separate” both groups for other people that may not be familiarized with the UT20 Wink
You’ve been reading and know how it works, but for other members seeing this for the first time, it may help to contextualize the operations Smile

Yes, you’re right! The tactical group being only operated by the tail switch is really nice, you don’t have to worry with touching or grabbing the light on the body!! Also, after using it on tactical for a while, one gets use to work with that and how to “time” the passage through the 3 modes!
That makes it good for a night walk or for places where high and strobe are easily accessible to mark your position or to “defend” yourself in some way!

About the other modes, yes, if you want, after switching it ON it goes on that loop all over again, by pressing the sie switch!
It is OFF only when you click again on the tailswitch!

Also, if you want to change the modes before switching it ON, you can half press and hold (momentary ON) the tail switch and then press the side switch to cycle through the modes! I do this sometimes as I leave it on High and want to start on Moonlight next time.
It is a momentary ON that allows mode changing! Don’t know if other lights are like this, but I find it cool Wink

The side switch on my Ultrafire C20 (clone of Crelant 7G3CS) will change modes during a momentary half-press of the tail, but not really usable to set the levels as you described since it doesn’t have memory.

Oh, didn’t know that! Well, normally I don’t appreciate lights with memory, but in this case, and in comparison with the Ultrafire C20, I would prefer memory with the forward switch!

BTW, I didn’t make reference to that, but the Klarus light you linked before is also very nice!! I like Klarus designs, but their UIs sometimes make me some confusion! Though, one of the lights I’d like to have is a Klarus light, the G20! The independent switches are top (for me) Big Smile

EDIT: Sorry for being off-topic! FacepalmSad

That sure isn’t clear when looking at that Amazon link. If they want to cater for more potential buyers they should make that clear in the overall description.

Hum, Nitefox must check on that then! If the information is not completely accurate, people that don’t like strobe may “avoid” this flashlight because of bad information!
