I know its a bit on the pricier side but it has potential to be a solid light! I found it on HKE and I emailed them regarding price for BLF members. I received a very quick response and they were nice enough to offer the light to BLF members for:
$71.99 US shipped. This includes the holster shown on the site.
or
$68.99 US shipped without the holster .
The light has been tempting me for a while now and with the great service from HKE and what seems to be the best price I've found on the light, I think I may go ahead and pick it up if my college funds allow. I figured Id mention it here and see if anyone else wanted one :)
Yeah, I am interested, and would especially want to see how many amps are driven in the thing and wether or not it can out throw my fenix tk41, as Im looking for a thrower.
I'd gladly get it at that price (heck, even full price) if the reflector is 73mm and head bezel is 78mm. Else there is nothing special about Ultrafire HA (i've got 2 flashlights - 980L and U80) and 93% transmission glass lens and low PWM.
Actually i don't think the UF-980L is a good buy either.... it heat sags too fast. No use at all... It actually drops faster in output faster than a DRY in Turbo mode, believe it or not.
This light looks interesting, but like the others I think I'll wait for a review and some beam shots.
What would you guys consider to be the best multiple 18650 shorty thrower for under $100us? I really want a short thrower, but I have no idea what's good.
The best shorty thrower is the DBS V3 aspheric with EZ900 1.5A WH tint pill, it's in the range of 100k cd. 140mm long and 53mm head diameter. Takes 2 x 18350 or 2 x RCR123A/16340. You can do 2 x 18650 with the EXT650 extension but won't be a shorty then.
The DEFT HO is no longer available, but is over your budget anyway.
The hotspot is more useful than one thinks, it is about 70% the area of a top XM-L commercially available thrower like the Crelant 7G5.
