new member, flashlight virgin

joined last week after seeing convoy s2 $6.99 deal
thought it was time to say hello.

so …. Hello.

im one of those pesky vaperers so know a little about batteries but will probably be aking loads of obvious questions so sorry in advance.
oh im from uk too.

“im one of those pesky vaperers so know a little about batteries”

Hoping you know not to pay vape store prices for cells!

I’ve met quite a few vapers who seem to think that 18650’s and 26650’s
are “vape batteries”, since they’ve never heard of them outside of the context of vaping,
and are happy to pay 4x the going rate at a vape shop for their “vape battery”.

Welcome to BLF!

Welcome

Just ask, we will answer

thanks

nah im total tight arse never brought anything from uk vape shops normally get from fasttech, but last pair of 30Q’s were £8.40(used supermarket points) from verified uk vendor.

vape batteries frequently have very high max current drain, which adds cost,
but i know what you mean about expensive…

Hey how are you doing man? Welcome to BLF!

Welcome to BLF james butcher! Great deal on an S2. :+1:

But they are also just rewrapped cells that can be had elsewhere for cheaper. That or they are blatant lies

Welcome to the forums from another pesky cheapskate vaper

It's a pleasure to know you, james butcher!

You always find the best pics of MJ Raccoon!!!

Thanks!

I shoot for sexy, yet classy.

Hum, what’s that smell, it smell’s like a raccoon in here. :person_facepalming:
Welcome to BLF.

welcome to the club…

Welcome James! Great first buy, the convoy was my first budget light also.

Welcome to Budget Light Forum!
I hope you have as much fun here as I have learning about lights, batteries, electronics, chargers, emitters, firmware, machining, and much more.
Once you catch the flashlight bug, it’s like herpes or something

thanks for the warm welcome….got my s2+ today. really happy with it but noie is bugging me.

Welcome to BLF james butcher!

At that price a good old S2+ can’t be passed i agree… What’s that ‘noie/noise?’ you’re talking about? Probably low frequency PWM on mid and low…

Now be prepared for some really stunning lights… and a growing black hole in your budget - although light addiction is not a too expensive hobby (some may disagree and side effect may vary). And this is BUDGET Lights Forum!

If you feel like trying some nice lights i would suggest you look at the BLF A6 and Q8.
They can be found around $22 and $50 respectively with coupons you can find on the forum.
You’ll be glad to have extra high drain 18650.
