What better quality tail switch will work to replace cheap one in 18650 battery type Skywolfeye flashlight

Hi, I am looking to replace the tail switch in my cheaper budget 18650 battery type Skywolfeye flashlight. I see a small number below the Skywolfeye logo that says TLY-6501 if this help to find a better quality tail switch that will be a simple swat the old one out. swap new, better quality one in. I see lots listed on aliexpress and ebay,But don’t know enough about flashlights like you experts to know for sure it will 100% work in my flashlight,So here I am again on these great forums to get the goods. Thanks

Mabe instead of asking about a better quality switch for the skywolfeye flashlight that is an 18650 type flashlight. I was wondering if any quality 18650 tail switch would fit in it. Or are all 18650 tail switches differeent. If it is just an 18650 tail switch I need does anybody have links to quality ones for a good price or bulk packages of 18650 quality switches that may have 5 or 10 or so switches in each pack. Thanks

You’ll need to take the switch assembly out, measure it and compare it visually to whatever you’re considering as a replacement. As an example, here’s a Convoy switch assembly:

The circuit board has a diameter of 16mm, so if yours is 16mm and looks like this, there’s a decent chance it’ll work. Convoy stuff is generally good value and good quality.

If your switch assembly is different, you’ll need to post pictures and measurements to find out whether anyone here has seen one like it.

I’ve got a dozen or so flashlights, and hardly any of them are compatible with each other. A pic would help a lot, or measurement

Hi, Thanks for all your replies. I was never able to get the switch out for comparison. But when I tried today,I realze I was actually tightening the switch in,When I tried the other way,It was very hard to come out. But come out it did. After I got it out I realized that the switch could be taken apart. I was able to find a video on youtube about a flashlight switch that looked like mine, and cleaned everything real good, and then reinstalled it. To my surprise it is working perfectly now. Also to hopefully help others. I found an ad on aliexpress that sells a variety pack of replacement flashlight switches ,that looks to have 14 different types of switches in each pack.If you type in (Flashlight Modding Push button switch DIY Parts Many types of Switch Assembly Glare Torch CREE XPE Q5 tail switch (2 pcs). It should come up. When you scroll down the ad it has blow up pictures of the switches. Mine definitely looks to be the 3rd one at the top which is picture C. After seeing this .Even though I cleaned my switch and it is working good now. I am going to pick up this variety pack, since it only sells for $1.48-$4.74 per lot with free shipping. Plus now I’m sure I can find better quality switches, since I know exactly what switch I need now. I,m a newbie here, but have been treated like a veteran.Usually you don’t get that from many forums,So hats off to everyone here for making these forums such a great place to be. Keep up the great work everyone.

Now that’s an unusual one!

You only get two pieces of whichever type you select, but the prices are still acceptable for that, especially if you’re trying to repair a light you really like.

I’m glad you got it working again
