The price at Banggood has not been announced yet.

Same for the BLF Group Buy.

It is $xxx on AliExpress. (I don’t want to interfere with any Group Buy prices)

I heard the GT is selling for about $250. It’s a price war! Lol.

@Kirman: “The MF02 is still by far my favorite light in my collection, but I don’t get why BG feel they needed to stretch the specs so far away from reality.”

Well of course you do, so does anyone here.
It’s called PR.
You boost the data to get more people interested, simple as that, everyone knows how it works.

Doesn’t matter, it’s all down to pricing, build quality. modability and actual throw-performance.
So let’s wait for the first understandable tests.

Cheers,
Nico

Sorry for distracting a bit from the MF04 but does anyone know how far from reality the specs of the MF02 are? I still feel tempted buying both the MF02 and the MF04 but if the difference between them becomes neglectible I would rather stick to the MF02 as it will be more handy in daily use than this “bell”. It seems like the MF02 has recently started shipping with a more powerful driver. They seem to be putting out between 2.5A and 3A. With this higher amperage, I don’t think anyone has measured the candela. The earlier lights with less power did about 400kcd. They must be doing higher numbers now.

The MF02 is your best bang for the buck. The smaller reflector gives it a bigger hotspot and less throw distance, but that might be okay for your needs.

MF02 is a true budget thrower. Very practical for its size and weight in my opinion.

If the interest is high enough I could make a NarsilM UI 2S Boost driver for the MF04

Is there a way to tell if I have the latest driver in my MF02? If I have the older driver, am I able to buy the new one so I can swap them out?

You would need to measure the emitter current. I don’t think Astrolux sells drivers. Freeme might know better than me if they are available. I still have not heard any official news of the change, just people measuring the latest lights and noticing its 2.5A to 3A.

Lexels drivers are better regardless. If I bought an MF02, I would use his driver in it.

I got a few MF02 drivers left after modding the light They look all the same from old and new lights
on one of the first lights sold I measure 2.4A

I put my own NarsilM drivers in the light running BLF GT UI at 2A ramping +2.5A Turbo

Just the opposite, they first claimed 3,000 lumen and 1697 meters. When the light actually came out it was about 2A and 1400 meters and the drivers kept burning up. They eventually fixed reliability, but they were still well below the ratings. Banggood then changed the distance from 1697 to 1587 meters. They still say 3,000 lumen, though.

But then again the latest ones seem to have more current applied, correct? So, I would have also assumed they increased the MF02’s output with later production batches.

Yes, people reported this new higher current in the MF02 just a week or two ago.

I hope Astolux will sell a SS bezel for the MF04 as an option one day.

One of the comments I keep getting on my MF02 is that it is such a great looking light.  The well crafted ss bezel makes a huge difference appearance wise.  Would be nice if someone could photoshop the mf02 bezel including the  two laser etched rings onto the mf04 to see how it would look.
