Received my new Miboxer C4-12

Haven’t had a chance to use it very much as yet, arrived late yesterday afternoon but I’m thinking this will become my favorite charger. Didn’t really need it, I have to many chargers already but decided to go ahead and get it. I’m glad I did except I may now decide that I need more then one of them.

After reading HJK’s review, I almost decided against it because of this comment in the review: “The interface is easy to use, but it is a lot of presses to select current for all slots.” However, at least so far I haven’t found this to be an issue.

Anyway I think this will be my goto charger.

Don’t buy a second one just yet. Heaps of us are getting issues.

Just wait and see if the issues are fixed first.

Besides the issues its a great charger its a bit overkill for me i do not own many 26650s.

Mine is in the mail too. Took a few weeks until it actually got shipped. I hope they where ironing out the flaws

Selecting those charging amps is of little concern to me because it charges at 3A max.
All my cells are above 3000mAh so always 3A is good for me.
I don’t care the initial configuration takes some time as long as it remember my settings.

I was interested in getting one until I heard there were problems with slot #3 not working or overcharging. Are they in the process of dealing with these issues?

I have not heard any thing.

It would be good to see them address the issue.

Maybe there will be a board revision.

Among the numerous C4-12 chargers sold in the market, one is the reported issue of ERR (error) display in bay 3, and the other is the over-charging issue, also in bay 3.

l have discussed both issues with Leo and this what l know:

The video and the photo of both instances have been sent to engineering and they are seriously investigating whether they are endemic in this model/bay or just a matter of electronic components failing as can happen to any brand since the two issues are different from each other and perhaps just coincidental, or just might be an isolated incident.

Main objective is to find what are the causes , nevertheless.

Replacement units have sent in both instances.

That’s certainly a good thing.
Mine is still in the mail and I wonder how I can check if my charger is ok.
The ERR message is easy to spot, but how do I notice overcharging?

The display will show “full” and also the voltage (4.20v) though don’t be surprised when you measure the voltage with your dmm it might be lower because cells normally go down in voltage almost immediately after taken off the charger and to slowly decrease and eventually stay at its resting voltage.

What is the safe readout on the display?
Full and 3.7v ?

Will that only wear out my cells quicker, or can they explode? I often put cells in a charger and don’t return until 8+ hours later.

The display will show Full when it reaches 4.20v. It would not be advisable to charge anything then return 8+ hours later, though this charger will just stop charging when it’s full.

Whether I charge my phone or the batteries for my lights, I am always just in the vicinity of where my charger/s are so I can monitor and take a look at it while doing something else.

You know Murphys’ law… it can happen to anyone of us.

Haven’t done a lot with it as yet, but have charged both Lion and NI-MH batteries and haven’t noticed any issues at all in slot 3 or anywhere else. Will keep an eye on it but not really expecting a problem.

I have two C4-12’s and use them every day for several months. No problems with either one.

Plus my bay 3 doesn’t work.

I have one and it seems to be working fine.
but thanks for the info
