Flashlights on TV - BLF GT & The Gadget Show (Channel 5)

A researcher for The Gadget Show reached out to the forum asking if it was possible to get hold of a BLF GT for a new show that they was planning to film.

It was highly unlikely that they would get hold of a GT in time so I let them use mine for filming.

I also gave them an Emisar D4 to play with.

They sourced a DX80 from TACLIGHT to use alongside some other lights. They had some top quality gear and I am looking forward to seeing the show when it airs in a month or so.

Be warned that this is first and foremost an entertainment program so I wouldn’t expect the same level of thoroughness you often see in reviews here. On the plus side, they’ll have obviously have serious video equipment and the skills to use it well so I’m hoping for some nice footage of them in action.

Sure it is entertainment and they’re not going to do really thorough reviews of the lights. From what I know about this episode it seems that these lights all got used PROPERLY and hopefully we’ll see how different lights compare in different situations.

I wont say which light/tool was used to win the challenge but it seems they all got used a lot.

There will probably be a lot of people wanting to buy one here afterwards…

I’ve never heard of the show, but it looks right up my ally. It looks like they have set a few Guinness World Records. I’d like to see the GT thrower set the record for the worlds farthest throwing production led flashlight.

Nice one Chris, I hope you wrangled those tickets out of them!

Looking forward to seeing the show, well done !

That is great! Can’t wait to see it!

wow, this is huge.
Great exposure for the forum and people in here.

I can’t believe nobody (until now) has mentioned the giant foot. What’s up with that? Is this a kiddies program?

Some cool publicity for BLF !!

Is it a giant foot? Is it a large foot? Is it a six foot foot?

Or is it BIG foot

They used different tech - torches, drones, thermal imaging equipment to “hunt big foot” at night.

COOL!

A sense of humour like that makes all the difference. Now I really want to see the program.

Awesome!
A new show to the watching list

Everybody is very excited about it, by the looks of it. But I need a bit more information, apparently. My cable-TV has a lot of (shot behind the kitchen table) local channels but no Channel 5. Any suggestions how someone from abroad can watch it?

Last year I used it via:
iPlayer
Kodi
there is an app for iOS
or the live stream (if supported for the show)

…burn their pockets

Prices of the GT will rise with much demand… maybe somebody should make a BLF crypto coin to pay al your flashlight with :money_mouth_face:

LOL! well spotted! :+1:

Interesting, never saw this thread. I wondered what came of this.
